Who would like to see Touge like Battle Track's in GT6

While I would welcome the idea of having point-to-point touge tracks in GT6, I'm afraid touge won't get much or any recognition because there are many people who haven't seen the Initial D anime or Hot Version Touge Showdown and have absolutely no interest in the idea.

A small niche will always be a small niche.

To be honest if there were tarmac rally stages that were actually good then that would go some way in satisfying both the rally and touge contingent.

I wonder if half of the people mentioning Touge have seen Pikes Peak or WRC rallies such as Tour de Corse. I would strongly recommend you guys watch the links if you haven't.

Anyway, I guess the point I'm making is, proper mountain stages would satisfy the rally, touge and hillclimb enthusiasts, so their inclusion would hardly be niche.

I'm sure PD must have thought about it as Touge Battles are very popular and entertaining in Japan.
Perhaps PD did not want to put these mountain roads in the game as it might result in more people actually doing the battles in the mountain passes.

Well the good thing now is that PD said GT6 has been made with DLC in mind and that the game will be having regular DLC support. I wonder what goodies await us?

I would love to see Mt. Akina in GT6

I understand that touge is very popular in Japan but Gran Tursimo is designed to appeal towards a global market with lots of different racing series. Sure there there are some people in the West who want to do touge but the global appeal of the sport in the Gran Tursimo community is very small.

It likely doesn't get any recognition because there are people out there who are more interested in doing other types of racing leagues & series i.e. GT3, LMP etc. than racing against 1 car on a track rally-special-stage style or simply have no interest in racing touge whatsoever

I don't see why that should mean point-to-point routes on narrow roads shouldn't be included, nor that more than one car should be allowed on such a course at once, nor that new metrics shouldn't be incorporated (namely an integral or average time gap - pretty useful all around, I'd say). We're not going to get a bespoke GT3 mode, either, so I don't see your point.

Yes! I forgot what finally unseated it from its throne.

It lost its title after racing against Amemiya for the Touge Maou/Devil-King Tournament 2005 in Hot Version 76 with Amuse's new built R1 (using '04 Spec AP2 instead of the original AP1). Don't forget the AP2 in Japan still had F20C up to 2006. I have it on my channel (Hot Version Vol.76 Touge segment). BUT Amuse manages to regain back its title after having a tough match in the Devil-King Tournament 2006 with Amemiya when they entered a 320ps N.A. S2300 GT-1. Then after that, they haven't planned to be back in the segment and Tanabe-san of Amuse passed away in 2008. R.I.P Tanabe-san.

I like the Amemiya, but I just wish it could be painted without hacking.

But I like the track they use on BMI because it is so narrow and you have to be really focused because the grass and trees are literally inches from your door at some parts.

The course is called Gunsai Touge :)

^On that, what's the name of the short track they use (when they don't have enough money to rent tsukuba)?

I remember the first S2000 showdown was there, ending with an engine blowout.

That's what it was, thanks! And yes -- Gunsai touge please, Kaz and PD.

It doesn't have to be a 1 v 1 track, all you do is set the room to have 2 players if you wanted to do 1 v 1. You can already do that with GT5.

Touge Battles is an up and coming sport that will be popular in the rest of the world if people know it exist's.

Initial D is one of my favourite anime's and had I not watched it I might of not known that Touge exist's.

Once Touge get's recognition i'm sure more people would want it.

That circuit would be called Nihonkai Maze (Ma-zay, not Mayz) Circuit.

I wouldn't mind having Touge in GT6, especially if we have some lovely looking ladies at the start and finish line like the one in the video in the OP. :p

There is no reason it shouldn't be in the game, it could just be a small thing. There may be people who like it, don't like it, and love it.

Ah, I like that one; and is that Ebisu East in your avatar? If so, it appears to be being driven backwards, so it must from Drift Bible. :p

These are some great tracks for "ordinary" cars; another is Sugo, although that's a bit faster.
As can be seen from the above link, though, Ebisu has a few different layouts, all for different purposes (incuding, apparently, one built in the style of Touge). I wonder if Ebisu was the inspiration for the various Motorlands in GTs past.

A few touge point to point routes added into the game wouldn't take exceptional amounts of time to add into GT at all - if you don't like Touge, don't drive those routes - if you do, great - have fun on them.

It's more of a minor thing compared to something like - I want LOADS more real life circuits (inevitably with all the stands and scenery junk that isn't REALLY needed)

Trees, guardrails, and few mountains and buildings in the background. Simple as that.

But if they do out the tracks in, we need night time and weather change versions. Wet roads at night would be awesome.

Yes, I would love to see mountain pass-like courses in GT6.

Unfortunately, not many people know or even care about this subculture within driving so it probably won't be very appreciated if PD were to implement it into GT6.

I for one love the canyons, nothing beats a spirited run at 2 a.m. & to be able to do that in a virtual reality when I can't make the the 15 minute drive to my local mountain for whatever reason would be awesome.

Some people just don't it. We may never get to race in F1, at Le Mans, or in WRC but you can always put aftermarket mods in your mx-5 and make a late night pass alone or with other drivers.

my local mountain. (backside) not me driving.

Touge - Japanese term for mountain pass.

The more places to run your car in, the better. This could easily be implemented in the track editor.

PD doesn't even need to make their own touge tracks, the community has more than enough creative track designers.

True. A few diverse lay-outs in course maker taking place throughout mountainous areas would be sweetness.

We NEED Touge, also very fun for drifters.

This. I love drifting on custom made Toscana tracks. Mt. Aso is just... bad. Too narrow.

Also, the Nürburgring provides a nice challenge. You have to adapt very quickly and know every. single. turn.

lol Yup, the pic is located in Ebisu East. It wasn't from Drift Bible though. It was from Best Motoring Vol.41 Video Special (or aka AE86 Club Vol.4 which isn't true as I have the real AE86 Club Vol.4)
It was a GIF but didn't animate when I put it up o.O

So that's why I never knew the name but just how it sounded. Thanks.
No Problem! :)

Yeah, I mean, I didn't even know about these "Touge" battles before, yet I would love to race in these tight mountain tracks. It's not even that hard for PD to put in the game.

As long as I don't have to go sideways on a track, I'm into it.

I would like a touge track. Make something like Fujimi Kaido in Forza.
