I have been thinking about switching my ds2 lay out for gt3. I am pretty sure it has been done, but what do you think?

Left analog stick- direction left and right

Right analog stick- shifting up and down

R2- Gas

L2- Brakes

L1- Hand Brake

R1- The button that makes your car go back, cant remember the name.

What do you think.

Very soon , I will be switching to this new layout.

Woah woah woah! Quit it with your petrol-head technical jargon! :D

Right A-stick to shift? Mental...

Yeh, that is mental...I'll just stick with the normal setup...:D

Why would you want it like that?

I use left stick to steer, right stick for accelerating and braking, R1 shift up, R2 down shift, L1 rear view, R1 change view, and square for reverse. Much better than the default setting, which I used for a long time. I can't even think about that any more.

Use what ever is the easiest for you. I used to use analog stick for steering but i feel its too easy to stuff up with it so ive been useing the d-pad for last month. I'm still useing automatic, but if i was useing manual i dont think id use the analog stick for changing gears... but it might work with you so.... do what u think is best.

you said R1 for shift up and R1 change view :lol: :confused: :lol:

I don't know about that. I think the stick gives you more subtle control. In comparison the pads are sort of all-or-nothing.

I use left stick for steering, right stick for gas but r2 for brake so that I can keep the gas on with slight braking at the same time. Why? Because in a few areas it helps to keep your RPM's high, by tapping the brake you never have to come out of the gas.

whats a ds2 layout

I just started using my new layout today, and it is working really good. I thought I would take more time getting accustomed, but no. Shifting with the right analog stick feels like a completely new experience.:D

If I could retrain myself on DS/2, I'd do it like this:

steering = d-pad/left analog

accel = right analog

brake = L1

Shift up/down = R1/R2

e-brake = L2

Everything if your not used to it. It's hard to imagine it being simple. You just don't want to have to think about it too much.

tercel,.. look at your set-up, then look at mine.

My fingers would never leave their position, as where you would have to alternate your thumb from analog to buttons,..... it's obviously not efficient.

hey thats looks like a nice setup!!

Ive tried this before:

Left Analog:
left-left
right-right
up-forward
down-reverse

Right Analog:
left-brake
right-handbrake
up-shift up
down-shift down

It was pretty cool...but very hard..

i assume uve played xbox or have an xbox cuz thats how their racing games are... R(r2 for ps2) to gas its not very hard im not a manual so i dont really matter abotu the gears

tried your settings tercel, the gas and brake take quite some time to get used to. the pressure sensitivity inthem doesnt seem as good as the X, O, etc...
