Why am I so crap after the .02 update?

I used to be okay at this game.
If I didn't beat my mate I play mostly against I was always very very close to him.

Not since the 2.02 patch.
I know that the tire dynamic (we don't race with it turned on) changed, but this is so much more.
Its like some basic physic of the game changed. Of course I have googled, and can find no mention of it. My mate doesn't think the change is as drastic as I do, but he notices some change.

Is like the cars are not as sticky on the road for me, I am not saying its a bad thing, if anything it seems much more real; just a damn site harder (and I keep losing).

Am I losing my mind, or did something change?

It's hard to say, it would be easy if you had 2 ps3s side by side one with .02 and one with the previous update and compare between them, but I can't say I've noticed anything. Doesn't feel any more difficult and I haven't been losing more than I usually do.

Is this online or offline? PD are always tweaking online physics without mentioning it in the logs.

Tire grip has become relentless when using Comfort tires. Sports tires seem a lot less grippy than they were before Spec 2 and more so now with the recent update(s).

I'm pretty sure they have all been altered to have less grip.

If you're using a DS3, that might be why it feels that much more difficult for you. I don't know about everyone else, but understeer is too great when using a controller. I have the sensitivity at 7.

This is for online play, and we only use RS.

Important thing is that nothing fundamental has change; damn.

Handling has changed quite a bit across the board. If you haven't retuned your cars you'll have to spend some time with each one.

Personally, I think online is more difficult than offline.

There's your answer friend.
Do some serious practice laps online with sport tires. When you start becoming consistent and fast on sport compound, go back to racing soft and become "A driving god."

The fundamental change that has sparked so much debate is the tire model. Traction equals speed as it is the most important aspect when tuning corners for circuit racing.

It's in your mind. Run some time trials and get your groove back.

I haven't noticed anything, but then I hadn't played GT5 much until I got a wheel - and that was probably around the time of the update. The wheel took several seconds off my times.

I'm sorry but if anything really changed, it changed for your mate as well.
So you should still be very close.

If not it's mainly you.

Okay, so its me; fair enough.

I did try the different tires suggestion. I went to Sports Soft, and boy was it hard!
Really had to slow down to keep it on the track.

Interesting thing was when I went back onto RS, I was much better and the "problem" wasn't so apparent.

As a comparase I am using RM for now, the SS where just too much of a change.

2.00 was excellent.
2.02 broke something
2.03 fixed some things that went broke.
only Kaz knows what 2.04 will bring.

Either some quality in the update, or some quality in the driver

His style of driving may be more affected by the tweaks. I know I feel alot more loose. I tune very conservatively. Reducing wheelspin and tail wag.

I drive conservatively as well and do not respond well to loosing grip. I can't drift either.

This update has taken some getting used to.
