Why are B Spec Drivers Handicapped in Seasonal Events?

Why does PD insist on handicapping B Spec drivers in the Seasonal Events? On the very first event the suggested driver level is a measly 10 or higher.

Like many.., I was using the Seasonal Events today for some quick and easy credits. I put a driver in this race with a level of 35.., and behind the wheel of a vehicle that was at the max PP level for the event.

What I saw in race was shocking. My level 35 driver was "intentionally" holding back. The driver was purposely holding back on WIDE OPEN passes.., and purposely driving the vehicle at slower speeds in turns and on the straights. Plus the driver was obviously holding back on the straights when there was literally NOTHING blocking his way.

I jumped out of the B Spec Seasonal Event. Took the same bloody car to that track for a free run (with ALL assists off). I wanted to see how much my driver was holding back. That same car on the straights (with a clean path ahead) was easily hitting 5 to 7 miles an hour faster than the level 35 driver was going.

I can take the same car and driver into the games B Spec mode.., match the vehicle at a PP level for the race..., and the driver won't hold back. Yet on the B Spec Seasonal Events.., PD handicaps the drivers. Why.?.?.?

It's because bobs are no where near as good as humans and always are rubbish!

I know they're no where near as good as humans.., but this isn't the first Seasonal B Spec event that I noticed B Spec drivers NOT performing at the same level as they otherwise would in the games B Spec Mode.

I agree.., I think B Spec is just rubbish to begin with.., but from what I'm seeing.., it appears that PD's placing intentional performance restrictions on your Bob's for Seasonal Events, and their actual performance level is dialed back for these races.

I find you have to "control" bob more. You can't just assume he's going to overtake someone, you actually have to use the pass call. In the online B-Spec races, you literally have to babysit the driver and command his every move (pace up/down, pass etc.). While in normal B-Spec mode, you can get away with just letting him drive (in most cases).

I find by commanding his moves makes it more worthwhile for playing.

The only cars Bob is better than a human in are the X2010's, the X2011, and the FGT.

Personally, I enjoy B-Spec.

Also, for the 400pp and 500pp, I use cars that require no "babysitting" from my part. They win everytime, with no input.

As for the 650pp, that's a big tougher. The only thing I hate, is that even though your driver is "hot" (bar in the red), if he trails for too long, he becomes cold and loses ground, even in the 2J against a car that he should beat easily.

As soon as he becomes first (with some input), then he doesn't need any more of them.

You need to know your driver.
My best Bob, level 37 is fairly cool (blue). Left alone he will pootle around not really stressing himself or the car, right from the start of a race. If I nag him with go faster instructions until he's almost fully stressed (red), he goes for it and you can see the difference not only on the timing sheet but in the way he pushes the car.
Another Bob, currently level 23 or so, is fairly fiery and needs no encouragement at the start of a race to 'get on with it'. Although I do need to tell him to take it easy if he starts to go off course. Normally he passes pretty well and only later in the race might he need a hurry up to avoid him settling for second or third when the lead car(s) is/are still catchable.
