I'll just put my two cents here, and state that we try to help with the GT, or almost any other topic under the sun, but the grammar and spelling advice comes free as a bonus.
Compare multiple forums: You're looking for information, and you find a few different web sites with some help. Which one would be now intuitive if you were looking for solid answers? If it's important enough, you'd pay more attention to the one with coherent use of language and effective communication, especially if it was a specialized bit of information for which you had little or no prior knowledge of.
As for the faux mods, most are just trying to be helpful. If you feel anyone is out of hand (or just plain full of crud), notify us via the Report button. On the other hand, play the ball, not the man...there's subtle ways to explain it; twisting the arm until it snaps off, and beating them with your bloody stump is what we don't want to see: Report it.
General advice: Don't call the kettle names, until you know what color you are. Don't drag down the conversation, unless their head's on fire. Also, consider getting somewhat thicker skin for the really petty things.
If anyone is actually threatening another user with their state if membership, please let us know, and we will deal with it. We can't be everywhere at once, and we will deal with the serious stuff, but honestly ignore the minor trifles to a certain degree.
