(at least among average casual players, certainly!)
 
This race takes some time. I only used TC 3 and ASM because I have a DUALSHOCK, but you CANNOT brake while turning (You will spin out or f up bad). You have to glide in a few turns basically. It will take some time (It took me at most 9 tries).
 
WOW holy crap thanks for all the support never thought i'd get this much :) Anyways I DID IT!!!! after turning on every freakin support there was............... I feel dirty. Point is I got bronze and now I feel good about myself. Next question: Wheres top gear test track in Arcade? Plz don't tell me I need silver now.............
 
P.S. For anyone else trying, late braking on chicago, hammerhead, and cutting the corner on The turn before Gambon really did it for me. Heres another trick: the game doesn't count it as off track unless u hit the cones in some situations. Use it to ur advantage
 
I found the realtime adjuster on my DFGT was VERY helpful on this one...
Can't remember exactly how I did it though...
 
Just like the Toscana challenge in the Grand Tour Special Event (the Lamborgini one), you can't release the gas before you brake. The back end of the car rises if you do, losing traction. You have to release the gas slowly AS you press the brake. This is Heel/Toe braking - the preferred method for most if not all racing drivers I think. This stops the spin outs and lets you control sliding more. Reducing/removing TCS always speeds things up if you can control the direction your car's pointing in.

This is the most annoying thing i've ever experienced in this game. even after beating the indy 500, the x1 challenge, and freakin everything else, i still cant seem to beat the second challenge at the top gear test track (the one with the elises). It really pisses me off that after all this time I can't do it, no matter what I try. ANY tips or tricks would be beyond appreciated. THANK YOU

I did it yesterday. Believe me, it's not difficult at all to achieve gold in that event. The Elise is a little bit tricky to drive and you obviously still have some problems with the physics engine of the game. My advice is to go back to the licence tests and finish them all in gold . After that, your driving will dramatically improve and you'll find the race a lot easier. That's how i did with all the previous GTs and that's how i'm doing with GT5. Good luck!

I tried it I couldn't get round the first corner AND I had aids ON YES ON, but I do have a wheel dose that make it more difficult

It's slippery but predictable....practice will get you there. This made me actually start liking the Lotus' Never drove them before this.

As I recall, there are two different styles of cones. You can safely wipe out as many as you want of one style, but tap just one of the other style and you're DQ'd.
