It can be used both online or offline this is not for cheating but for test driving mostly. If one hundred users have it and only one car can be sent from the account it makes duping useless.

You get everything without doing anything. That's about it.
Same reason people use godmode cheats in, say, FPS games.

Someone will probably use the tired argument that they have a life (50 kids, work 90 hours a day, support 10 wives, 12 mortgages, etc.), and they can't be bothered to waste their time playing a video game. They want access to all the 'fun' cars right out of the gate, without the nuisance of grinding through content and slowly build up their garage.

I don't see the point in using someone else's saved data, but to each their own.

It's not a tired argument. Some people just want to drive the cars, and grinding through a fairly boring singleplayer game isn't for them.

But it is a pretty tired argument, and pops up not infrequently enough on these forums. If someone doesn't have the time to grind through the game, that's fine... use someone else's saved data for instant gratification, dupe and exploit birthday cars, slog through content as intended, or don't waste time playing video games... but stop using 'I have a life' as an excuse.

If someone wants to do something, they'll find a way to do it, no matter what it is. Having 'a life' has very little to do with it.

Fair enough, the argument is tired. Well, it is now that duping and such is possible, but then I guess they wouldn't have the time to do that either eh? :D

Totally. I fully understand why someone would want to take shortcuts, it's just the excuses that get old. No one cares! Do it or don't! Blargh!

 👍

I agree with Sum1s2pid.
But I gotta tell you that begging for cars through PSN is worse since it's more personal.

Especially when they believe they will get a car so much that they actually start thinking that you agreed to give them one.

I have one (not mention any names) that thought he'd get a Le Mans car from me saying he can't proceed any further into the game if he doesn't use a Le Mans car...
It's like he thinks he can't go from beginner to amateur and then what without clearing ALL of them in order.
I don't know. But car begging is worse than the save data sharing.

If they want all the fast cars, check the horrid arcade car list (which I want banned from online since it's not cars you bought yourself).

yeah It has been used way too much... but only people that have a life seem to understand. Since you were so fast to jump on the anti-life bandwagon then...Anyways PD just needs to make it easier. Have a difficulty level for A/B-Spec progress which dictates how much money and exp you get. Seems like a simple fix to me. Noob level will be for people with lives and almost all content will be available right away. Pro level will be for people who don't have lives and want to waste countless hours playing AI or baby sitting b-spec for very little gain.

It would be fine if they did it like Forza. Hold on, wait a second

All stock cars available in arcade/online with no ability to tune (beyond basic stuff like tyre pressure, oh wait... and aero if the car allows it) or modify. Sorted.

Just some thoughts:
I think that everybody should enjoy a game the way they what...they have that right...right?:)
Anyway, if it doesn't damage nobody, who the hell cares? Just do it and you will fell the consequences, being that good or not.
I admit that I duplicate cars for trade [I don't see myself grinding and grinding, then buying a stupidly expensive car...then grinding again...tired argument, but still valid, as I have other games as good as GT5 (not in racing genre though, because this is the best)]

Real life should always take priority over a game, as it rightly should. But... being able to make time for a fun activity, like playing GT5, does not mean someone has no life any more than not being able to means that someone does. It really doesn't. I wonder who someone is trying to convince when they try to say otherwise.

Yes somebody said this to me before but I tried it to see if they where telling the truth and guess what it DIDNT allow me to use it off or online this is what its said

"Do you want to copy this data ........ you will not earn trophies ect..."
I Said Yes.

then it said "You are trying to use somebody elses data.... Deleting and making new data"

So it DOES NOT work

Yer I found it doesn't work even if all psn's are contained on the same ps3, was duping chrome chips between my 3 accounts and I accidently loaded the wrong save it didn't work.

You have to log in to the original PSN account first to allow you to use it. You can't use it on separate accounts or sub-accounts.

The "I have a life" excuse may be tired, but so is the "THIS IS THE WAY THE GAME IS PLAYED, EVERYTHING ELSE IS CHEATING!!!1!!!" screed that pops up everywhere.

I say this because I do have a life. I used to grind 24 hour races all by my lonesome, leaving my PS2 on for days as I had to sleep, eat and bather (and sometimes only two of three). I stuck through two iterations of GT doing this.

Can't do that now. I have a family and a job. I did a 300 kilometer enduro the other night, and at the end of it, (four hours... had to help cook dinner and eat in the middle of it) I had to apologize to my wife.

Between working 8 hours a day, moderating 4-5 hours, helping my kid do her homework, doing the groceries, fixing things around the house, doing car-testing (IRL) on odd weeks and weekends and spending time with my wife... actually playing for more than an hour or two a day is a serious strain on our marriage. Which is why my first enduro (done just so I could reassure myself I could still do them) is going to be my last for the next few months.

Personally: Meh. They'll get it... won't be able to sell cars off the save at the same time because of the trade limit. Use it to play with a few cars, and get sick of it and move on. I can't ever see myself copying a game save. It's not terribly difficult to simply play the game and get the cars yourself. Expensive ones? Just trade for them. No need to actually copy a save where there's nothing left for you to do but hotlap in various 1000+ hp race cars.

As long as online play isn't affected i couldn't care less what people do to get their cars.

I love to race (and even sometimes) grind for the cars i want.

Gives me more satisfaction, if i want all cars from the start i will play other games...

Doesn't work with UK Accounts because we don't have sub accounts

helping my kid do her homework

There is your answer.

let GT5 help her with her math and she can help you.

If a LM car travels at 220mph around the Le-Mans track, how many miles will it cover in 24 hours. Give her the controller and in 24 hours she have the answer. get her to do it a few more times then she can learn about standard deviation. Get her learning some geography too on the different tracks.

She'll soon have your XP up and plenty of $$$. She might miss a few days of school, but she'll like that.

You're not at 220 mph, all the time. So you'd have to take a dozen laps, Divide the distance by the time, then multiply by 24 hours. But you'd have to discount the pitstops, work out a randomizer to simulate how badly a six year old drives when given a car 24 hours and no sleep... then plug it all into Excel, using three different statistical derivations of the average, with a second or third set where you throw out outliers...

What were we talking about again?
