This may be for the tuning forum, and if so then my apologies. I bought the Mercedes CLK-LM Race car from the UCD and it came stock with 720 PP. I added the stage 2 and 3 turbo with a new set of slicks and my PP dropped to 667! Does anyone have an idea why this might have happened?

I suggest Viagra.

Because you let go of it?

Haven't bothered to figure out power points yet; just watching HP limits for now; but will adjust when required in a race (online; or seasonal).

Oui, oui dans le forest :dopey:

Ok, the title of this thread was totally unintentional...

Doesnt the clk LM race car come with a turbo? Same thing happens to the rally cars if you switch the turbos. The stock one just works better I guess. Also, no evidence of this, but maybe the Performance Points account for a lack of grip due to excessive power? Just a thought.

Evidence against it would be that the TVR speed 12 would be about 400 less "PP" than it is now. :)

I wonder if Kaz did any language testing before they came up with the 'PP' concept?

Most car manufacturers at least TRY to find out whether their latest car model name means something lewd, crude or socially unacceptable in the major languages BEFORE they use it...

Oddly enough, the city I live in is going through a similar issue. A former Mayor had the unfortunate name of Harry Baals and they were trying to decide whether to name a building after him. It turns out he was actually one of the best mayors Fort Wayne ever had, but because people are so immature about his name, he is relegated to having a minor side street to honor him.

As for the PP issue, you can use both stage 2 and 3 turbos together and the CLK comes with a Stage 1. I thought of the grip issue, but I'm using soft racing tires, so I don't think that is it. I tend to think this may just be another bug...

The CLK-LM is NA not turbocharged in stock form.

As for your points dropping, did you alter anything else? Adding weight via ballast can be one way, or dropping aero, as well putting engine restrictions.

If ballast and engine restrictions are set to default, which is at 0 and 100% respectively, then it can be just a glitch.

You can try to abuse the rules with it by taking that car online and claim it only has that much pp...:dopey:

Came with Stage 1 Turbo, I'm telling you...

strange...really strange. I don't want to call you a liar, but the one LM I had and gave away didn't come with a turbo.

Edit: Just to be sure, are you sure the car you have is not the Sauber C9? That car is turbo in stock form.

Well, it's THIS car, but mine says CLK-LM Race Car '98 instead of GTR...

Edit: Just saw the bit about the name change.

It WAS funny, whether the guy's name was real or not. :dopey:

Look, the jokes aren't hindering your problem's resolution, just adding a little comic relief. After all, YOU made the title!

Why did my PP drop?

Because I failed to have a sense of humor? :dopey:

How the hell am I supposed to drink this tea now after that thread title. I can't stop laughing.:lol::lol:
