why waste the money
The reason I run Red cars is that red is the main color of the Canadian flag. Some cars do not have red as a choice,(like the Subaru) then I run white.What is the reason you picked your color? Is it your favorite, your real cars color, or you just never thought about it.

The reason I pick the colour I do for my cars, is because I feel that the colour suits the car. I don't have a certain colour in which I have all my cars in.

For example,
For the Nissan GT-R, I use grey.
For the Ferrari F430, I use red, because most F430s are in this colour, and it looks great.
For the Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo, I use white because I like the contrast between the black and white.

I guess I pick the colour that suits the car the best.

i also pick the colour that suits the cars best in my view....

what do you meen ..online races only????....
i thought you where asking for peoples choises....so what has the online or not have to do with it????...

I usually buy my cars in the colours that you can't find on others, for example, TVR's allow you to get Pearlescent paints, which most others dont have, so thats what I get those in usually. Then there are paints specific to manufacturers, such as Jaguar Racing Green or colours for specific countries, like Blue with white Stripes.

The only cars this doesn't apply to are usually the Japanese cars, in which case I just buy them in whatever colour I like best on them. Usually, I like to get them in general colours, like white, silver, red, blue, yellow, etc, seeing as I get other countries' cars in less generic colours.

Then theres certain manufacturers whose cars only ever seem to look any good in certain colours, like Ferrari's which usually are best in red (although yellow and black are cool too sometimes).

I too don't see why you ask online only...why?
 
I will either go with a colour which I find interesting, unsual or complements the car, sometimes I will chose a colour based on which interior colour I like (some interiors change with exterior choices)...

Or I will go with a colour which that car is classically represented in, like the midnight blue on the 02' Skyline GTR...

I pick strange, out of the ordinary colors as best I can, which I can do best on vintage cars. For example, I have Ferrari 512BBs in minty green and orange, which are definitely not generic car colors.

It's too bad most newer cars are only available in only a couple of colors. When this happens, I usually pick a shade of blue.
 
Something to scare soembady looking in there mirror for example my evo 9 looks pretty menacing in a bright yellow its your gonna know hes behind you.
 
When you see me online racing 98% of the time you will find me in a white car. I choose white because

1) Its a pure color, I try to be a pure racer.
2) White is not a color a lot of people race with. I.e I am trying to say away from the norm.
 
I try to choose Navy blue since i come from a navy family, the only member not to enlist hehe
 
The reason I said "on line only " is that is were you will be seen by the world. I'm trying to see if anyone uses a certain color to represent themselves.:)But forget about the online comment.

Right! Use something to strike fear in your opponent (the medieval Scots and Germans had other techniques - :sly:).
If I can't find one, I'll pick the most obnoxious colour in the bunch. :yuck:

I usually go with the "unofficial" color of the country the car is from. Other times I just go with whatever color suits the car best IMO. For example, white looks really good on the M3 with that carbon fiber roof.

Italy-Red
France-Blue
Japan-White
UK-Green
USA-???
Germany-Silver
 
I usually pick my car colors to stand out; I have a green Skyline and a lime green Amuse S2K

If they don't have bright colors, I usually just pick white for it's simplicity
 
I use whatever the car looks good in and I dig a lot of cars in white as I think it makes the styling stand out a little more.
 
Its kinda random for me, depends what suits the car best but mostly its black because it just looks good on most cars. ;)
 
for me I mostly go for white. A japanese saying says that the colour white protects you from accidents, at least thats what my japanese teacher told me :). Either way the GTR and the amuse just look good in white :D
 
originality - British racing green ( British cars ) , red (Ferrari ), red,white,blue ( American cars ) , of course black is cool on anything.
 
Off-line I usually pick the color I feel looks best on a car. Occasionally if a car is available in a very unique or unusual color I'll pick it even if I feel the car looks horrible.

For on-line, very early on I decided I would try and stick mostly with one color with the hope that it would help, along with (hopefully) good driving, create some form of an on-line identity or personality that would help me stand out amongst the thousands of other racers. So, I chose black. First its my favorite color. Second, my favorite driver of all time is Dale Earnhardt and although I would not consider my driving style to be similar to his, I always found it interesting that many of the drivers he competed with, when interviewed, would always mention how intimidating it was to see in their rear view mirror, Dale in his black number 3 on their rear bumper. Also, I feel in many cases, that black cars tend to visually look more aggressive than say a red car or a white car. I do my best to race clean and gentlemanly and I have no interest in being know as a rough racer, but I like the concept that there is at least a possibly that someone I'm racing might find a black car filling their rear view mirror lap after lap a little intimidating. :)

I admit this may be little silly, but hey, its all for fun. :D
 
Depending on the car, I like black, white, yellow or green; unless a car comes in a really interesting color, like emergency orange.
 
I tend to also pick anything that suits the car the best...however, if I see a car for the first time in my life, that memory will sometimes stick in my head, and if that particular car is in GT, I'll sometimes buy that car with the color I saw in real life.....I guess it's a mental thing that makes it seem more real to me haha....like when I go to buy my R8 in GT5p, I'll probably buy it in silver because when I first saw one on the street IRL, it was silver.
 
Black always black like my real cars. Most cars tend to look good in black. IMO
 
I'll buy a car in a colour that suits it, but I will never buy a silver car, to boring lol.
 
i downloaded the save with two F2007, and sold all cars, and bought the f430 in all colours.
 
I own a black Audi TT so I bought one of those and a black R8 to go with it. Most of the rest are from the save game I downloaded from here. I hate having to churn through all of the "game" stuff, I just want to drive where and when I want.
 
Ferrari's I pick Red first and then when I start buying multiples I usually go white or one of the black choices.

Audi I bought white R8 and TT because I have a White A3 currently.

I prefer white cars, but if there is a color that better suits the car or is specific to that car (TVR pearl etc) I will pick that first.

Stripes on the Vipers are a must :)
 
Black, no particular reason, I just figured if I was going to try for one color, black would likely be an option most cars will have.
 
Ok, it seems that the majority of you pick the color based on what looks good on the car. So here is a new twist to this question, If you could pick just one kind of aftermarket body shop, would it be : A) a new skin design like in GT2 B) a bigger variety of colors C) a shop that you could design your own design

I would chose C as I would like to have something that is totally different than anything else that would be online.👍
