Why do games have different content when...

Quick question: Why are they different depending on location? I really wanted the Mini Cooper 1.3i in GT4, but it's not here on the NSTC version. Also I noticed that the PAL version of GT3 had only 2 out of 6 F1's available from the NSTC version. My friend from Ukraine is really pissed that he can't drive a F686/M.

I want to know why they do this to everyone, rather than give everyone the same content, but different language depending on location. I noticed that the Chinese version has a lot of typo's and a glitch that won't let you get 100%.

Anyone knows why they change the content like this?

The Japanese release of GT4 featured the 1.3 original cooper, as seen in the Citta di Aria shot above.

Probably due to licensing or problems with the car manufacturer.

The Japanese version of GT3 featured a Porsche 996 GT3 and a Nomad Racing Diablo, but before either manufacturer found out, the Japanese version was already made. And since the NTSC or other copies weren't out yet, PD were forced to remove them.


If I remember correctly. Famine, Scaff, or someone else can probably explain it better. I do know the Korean version of GT4 had a couple more Hyundai's.

The Korean version of GT4 has about 10 more cars, I believe. And, remember the car description/biography that's been in every GT except for GT4? Well, the Korean version actually has a commentator explain the car's biography throughout the replays... I thought that was the coolest thing ever.

Yea, i also find it annoying that other copies of the game have cars that i want but are not in the version i own.

As for me, ive been playing the chinese version because it the only one i have. I got it like a month before the english release and i made so much progress that i never othered to restart on an english copy.

Stop saying PD are racists. They are not. You/We do not know why the Esso Ultraflo Supra is not in the NTSC version of the game. Its not in the Japanese version either, but its in the PAL version. If PD were racist, it would be in the Japanese version, and no other, so by your logic, they are being racist against themselves?

The Mazda6's model name is the Mazda6 and it's made by Mazda, so its official name is the Mazda Mazda6.

Same with the Clio V6 it's proper name is the Renault Renault Sport Clio V6. Like the Ferrari Enzo is really called the Ferrari Enzo Ferrari.

They should be more equal when it comes to choosing cars, and game content. It's funny how the Honda S2000, and the Nissan 350Z sound exactly like I heard them in real life, while the Plymouth Barracuda, and Chevrolet Corvette, both sound like pissed off vacuum cleaners, with the air filters full of dust.

EDIT: I'm sure someone is going to bring up how they have over 200 other cars, but I still think they over-represented... 65% Japanese cars and 35% are the rest.

What i want to ask here is/maybe a stupid question and it has nothing to do with the topic (i think) so don't hate me for it.Can you actually trade cars between PAL and NTSC versions of GT4?IF its impossible,then is there a way to do some "hybriding" in GT4 that lets you own the cars that weren't available in the NTSC version (eg. Toyota Esso Ultraflo Supra,Mini Cooper 1.3i,etc) like they did with GT3? (the GT genome project i think it was.....)

Lol JK, I do have a problem with GT4, and it seems like it's not going to change what PD is doing, because I doubt they are reading this site, so no more discussion of how they messed up GT4. It's funny that no one agree's with me, but they agree when someone else posts something like this, I was trying to see how people react to the same thing if I did it. So far, I am getting treated much differently, while the other guy had alot of people agreeing with him, I don't get it.

I don't know mnm_bmx, but there was a way to get the Lamborghini Diablo in GT3, but I don't know how.

I wasn't talking about GT3 and besides,you can just download the saves from gamefaqs.com which comes with the Prosche 996 and the Lamborghini Diablo.I was talking about if you could do it in GT4.......oh never mind!.....

Maybe it was mis-understood when you said in that thread, so very long ago now, that the photo you posted was of one of your girlfriends.. But when you say 'girlfriend' you imply that you have committed yourself to that person. For most people in monogamous communities having more than one girlfriend is sleezy. I think its okay for someone to see various people if thats what they want to do, but when you enter into an actual relationship with someone you should be loyal.

Onward from that..

I 'reckon games would have different content in different places to cater for the people from those places. One car might be more popular in one country than in another, so instead of having a load of foreign cars you've never heard of they pick the ones they think will be best. I doubt they're selected because on the nationality of the manufacturer..

Or perhaps the size of the game would have been too big if they included every single kind of car in every single section of every single game.

I dunno... just some brainstorming.
