Why do people collect tickets?

Basic question for a relative noobie! I understand that people 'collect' things for hobby sake, but is that the same with the tickets? I understood the various tickets (I'm level 23 btw, so I've had them), offer a lottery as to which car of that year/level you get. Am I missing something else?

i started collecting tickets when i was 18 and had my drivers licence.
Now, 12 years later, im still sticking to this hobby :)

Remember: There is no limit xDD

I guess just like we collect museum cards, parts, paint chips, horns, racing gear, helmets. The question though is at which point does it no longer matter. If you have two of every single car in GT5 or can't have more than a certain number of cars, then it becomes irrelevant.

Welcome to the forums

Tickets are the only items you can use to "technically" bypass the 1 million trading limit. Therefore, it makes them very valuable in both the trading world & the user.

This. Also, Birthday Tickets of specific years and Level Tickets can help you get a car that might be rare in the used car dealer or costs $20M. Granted, with the triple payout Seasonals, money is no object these days, but there is something to be said for getting a free $20M car with a ticket as opposed to having to grind for 2 hours to earn the credits. :)

Cars hatched from tickets are 'new' - 0 miles, which has value to collectors, but also saves the hassle of rebuilding the engine and chassis on the used cars.

I collect tickets in the actual meaning of it , never using them.
Just storing them. Not duping or anything like that.

What a question. Humans collecting & hunting things since the stone age, no, since ever. :sly:

Same for GT5. We are doomed to collect everything, or just for our e-peen, everything that's listed at http://www.mygranturismo.net. :)

I also collect for the sake of collecting. I have all the cars and this just ads another element to the game. I have no intention of using them.

I collected so many tickets the first 2 years I had a license that the state of Indiana, USA allowed me to Walk for a Year. That was a bad hobby.

I'm collecting all Birthday-, Level-, Special Tickets, Gears, Horns, Museum Cards, Rare Paints and cars off course just to have them all.
I only need to use three BD-tickets for three car i'm still missing. (I dupe)
It's going to make my game complete.
Just take a look at my trading thread. I've been very busy ;)

I'm collecting them on 3 PS3's so I can send them to each PS3 so I can pop the tickets and hopefully get the Zero /zero car I want and if i don't I reset and try again, and then i try again, the i pour a drink , and then i try again.

I use three PS3's so that I grind La sarthe on one while i'm backing up another or two PS3's to reload the ticket, that I just sent to myself, so that I could back it up, then if I get the car i want i will save it, and stop grinding La sarthe, and send myself another ticket so i can keep poping it on an account, so I can get another zero/zero car of same make and model in a different color that I don't have yet, while grinding La Sarthe, and sending other paints and horns and Museum cards to other great traders on GTplanet:tup:👍👍👍 so that they can send me more tickets, and then I started trading helmets and suits so I stop tradeing tickets for tickets and started trading tickets for helmets and suits(henceforth refered to as gear) So then I got all(most of, please feel free to send me what I'm missing) the gear, so I started to trade gear for tickets i was missing, but then I forgot to pop those tickets, to zero/ zero cars, that I forgot I was gonna trade to get other zero/zero cars that i really wanted but now I cant remeber what they were cause I started to buy them from the UCD, Now everything has a check mark beside it so I had to make a spreadsheet, to keep up with what was 0/0(hehehe) and what was used. Then I grinded to much so I started buying all premiums in all colors, but then i wasn't poping tickets anymore, and not mention painting cars cause I wasn't sure what paints were rare or not so.........

I made a new account, started from scratch and just played the game again with all the knowledge I gained from the first time. Like buy the right car at the right time. Working on a low race, undefeated account of A-and B- Specs. Kinda fun, but .....

if you have any gear i need please PM me :scared::scared::scared::scared::crazy::crazy::crazy::crazy::scared::scared::scared::scared::scared::scared::crazy::crazy::crazy::scared::scared::scared:
