Not to bash on anyone in particular but I've noticed that the people who usually drag race online on that SS7 track all talk and act the same. It seems like they have this ghetto hardcore attitude and talk like a bunch of gangster wannabe's. It's like the fast n furious online. There may be a few rare instances that I run into a couple of normal people, but for the majority it's mostly these guys who act like they have something to prove and not to mention they are very rude, disrespectful, cuss and say the "N" word after everything. It's annoying. I'd like to be able to join a drag room with normal people who can respect one another and talk like normal human beings.

Probably because they are just young, immature kids who street race in real life. I know when I was young and stupid, I acted that way, and only street raced in straight lines until I grew up and learned that it's actually more fun to turn the steering wheel 💡

Probably why the circuit races are different, because the demographic is different (i.e. older or more mature crowd).

I've noticed this with the SSR7 straight line races too, really annoying.

This is the reason i stopped going to these rooms. Removed by moderator all over the race track. Maybe they think it's going to make them faster. Who knows?

I have been doing the nascar racing for the last week or so, Lot's of fun try it out. If you want a good daytona set up PM me an i'll help you out.

DONT BAN ME PLEASE!
Take car guys.

I drag race at Sarthe no Chicane. Join my room sometime!

I'd be in for this mate, if you're ok with it. :) I'd been thinking of setting up drag meets there myself, but not sure on how it would go...:guilty:
I wouldn't mind dropping in for a look. I have just got myself a headset for easy communication.

Keep an eye out for my room, DTDIRL DRAG RACING. Anyone messing about gets kicked straight away, good bunch of lads normally on for a few races. I use Sarthe (no chicanes). Only rule is on the 3rd beep ya go ha ha

Because the people who only drag race are the ones who are too stupid to figure out how to tune a car to tune a corner.

thats not true, its fun to see what ur car can do by the end of the tunnel, and tune to keep getting those numbers higher 👍

Do you actually think you're a good tuner by being able to adjust one slider for max speed?

I think that is a bit harsh don't you think ?
Its actually quite hard to tune a car to develop its maximum speed and at the same time keep the car quite stable at those speeds.
I would go as far as to say that it is as hard to tune a drag car as it is to tune a track car especially since 1 more MPH could mean the difference between a win and a loose.

Personally if people want to act like gangsters and drag race let them if you don't like it don't join them its simple, that is why we have such great places like GTP that is also filled with such great people were we can come and find the racing and more importantly the atmosphere we like.

Well said :) Nobody has a gun to your head to race in those rooms, gamer discretion is advised, do not join rooms you will not like, simple.

Sounds exactly like the people who play on Midnight Club L.A, Maybe they are moving to GT5 now that series is finished. Lol :dunce:

Hey now, don't stereotype anyone who runs on the street as a young immature kid. I know plenty of older guys that still do street hits around here.

Granted they are not the type to hang out in a parking lot till 3am racing with a 16 second cavalier or civic.

Funny a lot of people dislike stereotypes but they have truth to them or else they wouldn't be a stereotype. As long as we understand it doesn't mean everybody falls into that stereotype. But I love them. It's fun. I can predict with a good 80% accuracy who will be driving certain cars on the freeway and to some extent what they look like. Certain cars like vettes my accuracy goes up. Same goes for racing. Certain types or people are attracted to certain types if racing.

Tuning cars for drag racing in game is very simple to say it is even close to circut tuning is way off the mark. Even oval tuning is much more complex than drag tuning and keeping it stable in a straight line are you serious? There is nothing to it at all. take off the downforce add lots of power, tweak the gear, get rid of all camber and toe and there you go. Circut tuning is mouch more difficult and is different for each type of car. Drag is pretty much the same on all of them.

On Forza 2 a bunch of guys were all into drag racing and spent days and days tuning thier cars. One day they asked me to come out an teach them some tuning tricks. I promptley jumped in my fastest car and smoked them so bad they could not believe it. keep in mind my car was not tuned for drag racing nor for top speed yet was much stronger than anything they had even saw on the strip. My advice of course was "you might want to start by getting one of these' :) the car of course was a GT40 tuned for a high speed oval.

Wait, people still street race?

I thought that went out with under-car neon...

That would have been ricers "racing" their 16 second civics and cavaliers... most fell off, fast and the furious craze must have died down.

Street racing has been popular since cars were invented... there is still a very active scene in many large and small towns.

I drag primarily in the real world but have been known to run Auto-X, HPDE and flat out/open track days at the local road course and will run on the street if it's a worthwhile race.

Drag racing in gt5 is pretty stupid in my opinion.
First off, there is no tree to launch from nor is there a timed 1/4 mile event.
And, without being able to dial in a clutch/tq convertor, varry launch rpms, tire pressures, adjust suspension geometry... never mind... getting a car to hook is what drag racing is all about, and the game simply has no tools to do this... so why?

I am glad I was not the only person that notice this!!! A lot of rude people and in person I don't tolerate it too well either! Explains why I get annoyed and leave the room!
