Why do seasonals expire and disappear?

Are people winning prizes? Is there a major championship of some kind that only the top 100 drivers know about?

Wouldn't a more logical design be an ever growing list of events, replicating the offline career but is ever growing? Just remove the time/date limits and have global leaderboards...

Imagine a new gt 6 owner going through the menus, clicks on seasonals, then there is this huge list of events, many with car awards...

It just makes more sence, not to mention I'm irked that I was too busy traveling to finish the Le Mans and Nurburg events to win those cars... Now they are gone... And they looked fun!

Should this go in the Kaz questions thread? Does anyone go over their anymore?
 
I think it probably has something to do with how many events PD can store in the seasonals section.

I imagine there is a limit and anything above that limit, bad things happen.

Kaz always has some sort of wacky reasoning for everything.

Strange, as GT 5 didn't have this limit... And it's now off line...

Returning to GT 5 after many months away was like a whole new game with all the new events.
