greatest thread ever. haha. i retired my first bob by accident. it was an "ooooooh what does this button do?!" moment. he was level 2. may he rest in peace.

i'm still using the same bob that i created the day i got the game and he is still going strong. he is a level 40 with 179wins out of 192 races and have not seen any decline in any of his attributes. maybe thats something they added in one of the revisions cause i have not downloaded any.

So one of the updates I downloaded introduced some sort of Bob-wasting disease? I feel a bit guilty now.:guilty:

I have only used one Bob, he is level 39 and the career bar is about halfway with 228 wins, so I figured that the '500 rule' mentioned before was correct.

This implies that filling the career bar is NOT about doing 500 races, likewise the OP implies that the performance stats fall before the career bar is full. I have been wondering whether the arrows effects his status in the bars (because they seem to do nothing else) and now hope this does not become as complicated as maxing out bob in GT4.

My Bob's gonna die???

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Bob's life expectancy is greatly reduced once you put him in a Toyota 7 race car. This results in his "career bar" increasing dramatically. True story.

It's quite simple. All bob's career bar fill whenever a B-spec race is ran. They grow older wether you use them or not (time is passing even if they don't race).
They also will grow older if you start a race and then quit it. It's still considered as a valid race in their career.

Now that would explain something. These guys surely were a disaster with the Toyota 7 on Cote D'Azur. I am not sure if a specific (and rather psychotic :)) car drains more Bob life, but it sure caused a lot of restarts.

I have restarted many other races where I found the car was a bit underpowered, or so overpowered it was boring, or just where something disastrous happened on first lap. So these guys may have double or triple the number of starts in races than the stats show.

Restarts are apparently a no-no.

Perhaps there is really some logic: If Bob mostly keeps participating and winning, his career keeps going, but if not (including withdrawn races), it starts to decline, the career bar fills up faster.

I wonder how Bob would react if he is withdrawn from every single race he goes to.
