Like it says above. It handles horribly stock but with some tuning it can hang within a few seconds of an f1 on most tracks. On midway i think it has the top time. On complex string i think i got it around 3:55. Ill check later. Besides its power cant be beat.

I dont really care how fast it is. The cars I "like" are the ones I enjoy driving. The Escudo is not fun to drive IMO. I cannot finesse my way around a corner or use any of my skill. In fact, unless it is a race car, I refuse to drive any car with more that 700hp.

* It east tyres instead of gas.
* It IS fugly... "F" ugly ??
* The super hards would not last more than 3 laps on the super speedway enduro.
* turbo lag is a sign of the BS behind the project.

One discovery : on certain cars, using a smaller (and cheaper) exhaust and filter system kit along with a latger turbo gives you mosre HP than a larger kit.

They put it in because all the GT2 players would whine if they left it out...

It handles like a dog.

In GT2 I only used it for the Pikes Peak rally, against the escudo ghost, then I sold it.

The car is designed for the Pikes peak hillclimb and seeing as Pikes peak isnt in GT3 (nor any other hillclimb track) it seems pointless.

The escudo isnt even the fastest car at pikes peak anymore, they showed the fastest car at the goodwood festival and it was a 900bhp celica.

... built by the same guy who built the original Escudo. If memory serves, his name is Rod Millen. There are unconfirmed rumours that the local Native Americans gave him this name because in their language, it is "Big chief crazy hillclimb guy".

what things have you done to tune it? i have it handling not all that bad for a car with 1800 hp. what are some of your times on tracks. midfield and complex to name a few. I have almost eliminated all of that understeer. when you mash the accel it no longer drifts outward.

isnt that what f1s are for too?

you can beat the Escudo with some of the other rally Cars.
it's a heck of a lot harder to beat the F1s with a non-F1.

My main reason is that it doesn't have character... the bastard will move foreward, and turn if provoked, but that's it. On the other hand, you can get a connection and bond with many other cars... the TVR and Tommy Kaira cars being great examples. Those cars have got character, and, once mastered, will do as told! :p

I understand. But its the only car in the game that hauls such ass, lol. That makes it quite original. I dont think the car is magnificent or anything. I just dont know why so many ppl hate it.

The tommy kaira cars are great. I love the zzII.

someone mentioned that the Escudo's purpose was to "cheat" by moving through the game as quickly as possible with little or no competition.
you said that F1s had this same purpose, which i explained was incorrect, based on the fact that the AI F1s would be much more difficut to beat with a car other than an F1, which is what an F1s purpose is.

to summarize: Escudo - cheat; F1s - other F1s.

I don't think Millen had anything to do with the Escudo. And was it the Celica or the Tacoma?

I think it's just a bit if fun.
It understeers terribly, but it's a gas just to open it up and watch the scenery bombing past.
Wouldn't use it to rally as I think most of the other cars handle far far better.
