Why does my B-Spec driver suck at driving cars I dominate with?

Same car, same event, I win by 20 seconds, my B-Spec driver comes in 7th. Do their levels matter that much? How is it possible?

Why is my TVR Tuscan with 520hp losing to cars with 214hp? It doesn't make sense to me, and I need someone to make sense of it for me. Granted my B-Spec driver I'm using is lvl 10, competing in a lvl 11 or 14 event, does that matter that much? His personality is right in the middle, does that matter?

Someone explain how B-Spec works.

What kind of tires are you using and what it the best the event will allow?

It's a lot of factors, his mood (green, yellow, or blue arrow), it can be his personality, even his skills. Maybe even the car itself. How it handles corners, wheel spin. If you experience that a lot give him some LSD (Limited Slip Differential... :) )

How many B Spec drivers do you have ? You're level 10 right so you should have at least 2 if you haven't done so already. I had a level 14 driver failing with a fully tuned lambo in the lambo race coming in 2nd. He was afraid to overtake, and was pretty cool headed, not all the way but pretty close. So I got a second guy leveled him up to 9 and he takes the race, 1st on the second lap. His personality was a little left of the middle not touching the blue. He's awesome and takes the overtakes like a pro. So experiment with different drivers. They'll level up faster if you put them in harder races anyways and they'll make you $$$$$$$ while you eat a sandwich.

B-Spec driver I'm using is lvl 10

There's you're problem.
They never become great drivers, but until level 15 at the least they will do awful in almost any car.
Oh and those stats you see when you first create your driver also make a huge difference, that includes the attitude. You should always try to get a driver with high skills and a cool attitude.

I have 3 drivers, two medium personalities, one cool. I try to make sure that I get good cornering whenever I make them. And I believe my car has the LSD, I am using a Race Modified TVR Tuscan Speed 6, which now has a level 2 engine in it, along with some other mods, and he still loses.

Well Bob plays too conservatively. He will only over take on the straights and he doesn't drive like a real person would in a game. Meaning no bump drafting in corners. Where as most people would gain position in the corners in evenly matched cars, Bob likes to break way too early, and instead often gives positions in the corners. Your best bet is to give him as fast a car as possible so what ever he loses in the corners, he gains back on the straights

In one B-Spec race he has a 520hp car, and is losing to cars with 212hp. And its on the London track, which has plenty of straights. (British Lightweight Cup, in Professional)

Trust me, London is one of the worst tracks for Bob. Its too short, and the straights are not that long. Its fairly narrow, and so "clean" passing opportunities are severly limited.

Disagreed, I have (out of the six I can have) two cool drivers, one medium cool, one medium, one medium hot and one hot. The hotter they are, the less likely they are to yield positions due to braking too early. I think a hot driver of the same level as a cold one would do better on the London circuit and they do do measurably better at Indy and Daytona because they brake less, and there's not really much they can mess up. My first cool driver couldn't win the 20 laps of Indy in the American race you unlock at level 23, I read on these forums that a level 0 fully hot driver can actually win... And he did.

So don't always go for a cool attitude, it'll pay dividends to have a good mix.

Any failure on the B-Spec driver's part falls squarely on the director, ie. you -- even in an overpowered car.

Pick a driver with good stats -- there's a thread about this. I prefer the drivers halfway into the red with good Cornering and Strength.

Make sure your car has the required tires selected.

B-Spec drivers tend to prefer gear ratios that favor acceleration to top speed, but find a happy medium.

Monitor your driver. If he's having difficulty with Overtake, make sure he's not over-driving the car and making mistakes, ie. Pace Down. Halfway into the red has been ideal for my drivers.

Once in the lead, your driver may lose it if he's allowed to run too cool. Monitor him to keep him above middle, preferably halfway into the red.

If at all possible, put him in an FGT -- with whatever tires -- and step away from the television. Shovel the drive, teach a dog the long stay, or throw rocks at the neighborhood kids.

I tried to let him use a tvr as well and he failed miserably. Bought a lotus elise and he won on the first try. B Spec is so full of fail...

I myself too am having trouble on the B-Spec British Lightweight cup. Best I've done is 3rd on TGTT and 2nd on London. I'm using the TVR beefed up to 500bhp as well. Its so aggravating.

I just grinded it out to level 15 and have acquired myself a 4th driver, which is hot. I plan on trying to level him up to see if he can win. I do not want to have to buy a new car.

I've got four drivers right now.
One is lvl24, one 23 and two on 20.

All of them started overtaking on the outside line of a corner with lvl 18 or so.
Don't really need to tell them to overtake anymore. As soon as they get pissed off enough they'll just fly by the other AI-cars.

My Bob is an a**hole. I have seen him pull up next to other cars and bump them off the track or push up behind them ad move them out of the way. I didn't thik they did that but apparently I got the one with the attitude problem.
