Why does the Fanatec GT3 RS V2 CS cost £100 more than it did this time last week?

They've taken the GT3 RS V2 clubsport package away from the shop (as they have with the GT2 clubsport package). Now thats no problem if you want a GT2 package as you buy it all separately as separate items and it costs exactly the same.

But the GT3 RS V2 costs £100 more to buy separately, bringing the price very close to that of the newly released GT2.

Now I know Fanatec have been having some pretty bad customer service/shipping/stocking issues, but is their answer really to increase the price of an older product by £100? Can Thomas reply if this is now the case that it is no longer possible to get a GT3 RS V2 without paying very close to the new GT2 price?

Fanatec is trying to work through their package orders before taking more. I'm sure the package pricing will return once that happens.

They're hugely backed up right now. They're not even shipping stuff until the third week of january and early feb at this point.

I'd just wait a bit because they're kind of in a period of chaos right now and things are changing.

Thomas has also said that the Clubsport packages will be put back on the site but they were taken down for now because they just can't take any more orders until they sort out the current ones.

Sorry to be a pain but any chance you could show me where he said that?

I've tried emailing them to ask if they're gonna go back on at some point but I guess they're too busy to reply.

I'd like to know one way or another cos if they're gonna go back on at the old price of 319 euros I may wait, depending on when its gonna be. And if they're not I'll go pick up a DFGT next week instead when they're due back in stock... Can't justify the increased price.

I also saw a post where Thomas said that. I believe it may have been in his blog. But the GT3 CS package has been unavailable in the US for some time now(beginning of Dec) and he mentioned that it was due to avalability and that once product was in enough supply it would return.

I was looking at the site last year, now I was coming back to actually order and the Clubsport Edition is gone like you said.
I REALLY hope they put it back soon.
This package order problem seems to be something that should be easily solved since it's "only" a logistic problem. Maybe they got more orders than they could handle?!
Who more than me is gonna order this when it gets up again?

What was it priced at here in Europe before it got taken off?

Wheel demand sky-rocketed during Christmas due to GT5, and demand seems to not fade away. Basic economic strategy is to increase pricing to reduce demand, and reach “supply-demand equilibrium” (when your production is maxed out).

By removing the Club Sport package for now, they have efficiently reduced some demand pressure, and make a bit more money on the most eager Sim Racers.

I assume a number of potential customers are now in a stand-by mode with their purchase, awaiting re-introduction of the Club Sport packages.

At least I am..

Club Sport package for GT3 RS: €320

Club Sport package for GT2: €450 or €499?

€320 for the Clubsport Edition is really ok price if you compare it to the G27 (I think atleast). Sure, there is no shifter but the Clubsport pedals seems REALLY nice.
As of now it would cost 380€, 60€ HIGHER which to me is unacceptable.
I REALLY hope they put it up again SOON

We probably won't see Clubsport bundles until after May (US anyways) it's looking like.

The GT2 wheels for new orders will not be shipped to customers in North America for another 12-16 weeks!
:scared:

Fanatec also removed the GT2 kit (wheel+CSP) for $500.00 option for North America. If you order the kit pieces separately it now costs $550.00 which is very close to the Thrustmaster T500RS price of $599. I believe someone said the kits will be offered again in May 2011.

So one could get in line now and pay $550.00 for the GT2 kit or wait 3-4 months until the kit is offered at $500.00.
