Title sounds like a plot from a cheesy straight to VHS children's movie, but its true. Toscana, despite being the worst rally track I have ever driven on, is absolutely beautiful, and driving into the sunset glare is the most realistic videogame experience I have ever had. The stars and fireworks are astounding too. But then, after rapid time change, the time change stops. The sun is below the horizon, but its light is still visible. It ruins the effect and negates any chance at pitch black rallying under the stars and a beautiful Tuscany sunrise. Like, WTF PD? Only could program 1/3 of a day on one of the three time change courses? Were you afraid you couldn't render the moon?

It will be premium, so we can have a cockpit view...

I have not raced on this track on change time, but I would have thought it would go into night time.

It does... sort of I think it stops at around twilight time (I think 9:00ish in the track settings online)

It could be that the track is unfinished. I remember some improvements were performed in the last 1-2 months of development. It could be that PD still didn't finish working on it and released the track in an unfinished state, like other ones by the way (SSR7 is one notable example).

In what way is SSR7 unfinished?
I haven't driven there much :)

  • Missing/incomplete scenery
  • Buggy textures
  • Very low performance despite the lack of graphic detail
  • It's not used anywhere in A- or B-spec races. A hint that it could have been added much later in the development process than other tracks

What incomplete scenary is there?

The scenery around the toll booth area or the bridge at the beginning of the track are good examples if you pay just some attention. On the rest of the track there's almost a total lack of scenery, just a few dark buildings that are not enough in number to recreate the experience of what the track is supposed to be: a sort of fictional recreation of the japanese Tokyo Expressway Bayshore Route. The "walls" that strangely are installed on 99% of the track are there to hide that. Basically it should have looked like in this video instead of what is in the game:

But it's probably getting off-topic here.

Toscana is an interesting course to drive on, I just wished that PD would remove the invisible walls and let you drive off the course a considerable distance, then reset you back to the course once you go beyond it.

SS are all a mess, they look bad and are too dark. When you drive around you can see this artificial dark shroud over the visuals, looks bad compared to the darkness you experience on courses like Nurb and la Sarthe.

I'm pretty sure that Toscana goes into full night, you do one of the challenges on that course with the LP 640, and it's a total black out. Have also seen the rally dirt course in total darkness as well, which version of Toscana are you talking about?

Dirt & Snow- Toscana (Change Time)

Setting time of day on a track you race, wouldn't that be a cool new option?

Create a "My Lounge", Go to a time change track, go to course options, choose time! Also, pick 60x time for hyperspeed time and 1x time for real time 24 hours. You can do your "My Lounge" under your profle in the "Community" tab. You can do this by yourself or with your friends, as its online!

Ok, I will. Thanks for the tip. I never go there. :dopey:
