OK not a mini wishlist but my point is that GT has always included a few of the "unsung heroes" which makes it all the more sad that Venturi no longer get a look in. Great, fast, and obscure cars. Here's a little vid which is worth watching whether you like Venturi or not:

I'm not entirely sure what happened when the "old" Venturi became the "current" Venturi (ie: whether it was the result of a fantastically nasty legal battle like it was each time Vector changed hands), so it make not be possible for them to return to the series as they were in GT2.

It would be nice, though.

Off topic but that video is probably the closest thing I have ever seen to a typical Gran Turismo race scenario.

No way. If it were anything close to a Gran Turismo race then the Diablo would have disconnected when he spun out, one guy would have been driving backwards on the track, and the NSX would have won by a long shot.

BR2 guys a boss XD

I thought I was the only person that loved those cars, I still have my GT2 game saves with loads of my favorite cars. Venturi Atlantique 650 GT LM was a monster, fast and smooth and looked awesome. The Atlantique 400 was the street car but it was a looker too. The Vector M12 was an overweight boat but it was a fun drive and looked all sorts of weird and cool. Weigert W8 was full of win, man that thing looked so '80's as you speed around the test course, humming along to Dragula by Rob Zombie.

Other cars that never made it past GT2, the A Spec version of the RX7. Those cars looked wicked in GT2, sweet body kits and everything. Miss those cars, I'm highly upset that PS1 game doesn't recognize the bloody G25, nor the analogue buttons. Sony does some shoddy porting, Bleemcast made GT2 playable on DC with full analog control with brake and gas, go figure....

I just love how the guy uses his Diablo to bully the other drivers into the first corner... I would be a chicken if it was my Lambo...

Plus I'm impressed how the little MR2 gave the big Lamborghini a bloody nose!

Oh, so you are not offline yet?

I liked the Venturis in previous GT-games as well, maybe they indeed were 'unsung heroes' especially now, back then they were perhaps slightly more 'off the moment' as they were still current.
They didn't acquire classic status yet, maybe the rather conventional (or bland) styling has something to do with that, it's understated but perhaps a bit too much.
The place of quirky French sportscars has been filled since with Alpine and Hommel and I wouldn't mind Venturi returning, but I'd rather see Premium Alpines or other unsung French brands like Matra, Facel-Vega or even Monica and Panhard (both pictured below) appear.

Okay, not trying to turn this into a wishlist, just trying to give some other examples of other unsung (French) heroes (at least in videogames) apart from Venturi which we all know because of GT.
So in my opinion GT doesn't necessarily need Venturi but brands like it which are largely unknown, forgotten or underrated.

Hahaha he's the biggest boss of all. I thought that immediately when I saw that stache.

BM (Best Motoring) always has battles like this, very GT-like, pitting tuned or stock cars against each other on Tsukuba, Ebisu and some other tracks aswell. Very good entertainment for any car nut, check out youtube user Jjunfer and you'll find all the seasons of the english subtitled version, BMI (Best Motoring International)

Just had a flashback to ages ago at work when I was trying to remember an F1 constructor of the early 90's and just couldn't recall the name...

That video is awesome. That is so much like GT5. Though, I'm either in a room where everyone in the same car, or everyone is in cheaper street cars. I don't tend to race in or with F40s and the like.

I would kill to get Venturi's and Vector's in the game. I do miss them alot and also the dodge copperhead concept car. Loved that car. I remember winning the Japan V USA championship in it
