If you think it is just limited to CoD,

It extends to any game with voice chat where you can't ban people from servers. Just a function of the internet.

And if you really didn't care, why make this thread? You realize a decent number of the regular posters here don't play GT at this point and actually do play games like CoD and such?

People are douchebags in all games. But who gives a ****, I remember last year I got Team Fortress 2 on steam for cheap, surprisingly I hadn't played it before. Jumped into a game, and within 3 seconds "WHO ARE YOU SOME KIND OF NOOB". Happens in all games, not just CoD and not just FPS (though yeah, I did just site an FPS example).

I don't mind CoD for ***** and giggles, but it's not really a game you take seriously. Play some Battlefield on PC if you really want to hear people losing the plot.

Honestly, Black Ops is just a bad game. Much like MW2, and most console FPS games in general. The best FPS communities are all on PC, mostly because of the servers and admins allowing control over who can be in the games. And banning.

I actually liked MW2 on PS3 and just set a career high killstreak of 26 earlier tonight...havent played it much since GT5 came out and all the hacking going on in the game exploded. Never wanted to get Black Ops, since i want my games to be more realistic, not less...not to say that MW2 is realistic by any means. Have a friend playing Black Ops and we both decided that we're gonna reinstall CoD1: United Offensive back on our PCs. Console people who havent played a 20v20 FPS game have no idea what they're missing. Plus the free mods, levels, etc...

I like playing black ops, it's a good game. Yeah, there will be some mean idiots but they really crack me up
Black ops is a lot of fun and if someone is talking smack to you just ignore/mute them or leave the room. I myself don't do either of them, i usually let my gun do the talking

I don't play black ops because their are too many FPS that I got bored on already (thanks Activision and gaming industry in general for pumping out generic FPS after FPS).

When will this FPS fad go away? At first it was cool in Call of Duty 4, but then it just got predictable and stale.

I'm more into TPS now, thanks to Uncharted.

I never encounter any loud mouths because I mute them 👍. Every lobby I'm in, start of the game mute anyone with a headset icon who is making any noise that is unhelpful or unfriendly to me, i.e. anyone I'm not in a party with. I'm talking all games here and I don't see why you'd not play a game because you can't be bothered to mute them. (Just to clarify this isn't aimed directly at you AOS).

Well that's entirely debatable. People don't just wake up on their 18th birthday with a profound and sudden new sense of maturity...

And it's not like someone's going to turn 18, go out and get an 18 rated horror movie and think " That was scary... I can handle it now, but yesterday, I would have been traumatised."

At the age of 16, I had left school, got a job and a girlfriend. I got my drivers licence at 17 (the earliest the law permits here).

So you're saying I was mature enough to be out working, driving a potential one tonne death trap and was old enough to have sex and old enough to get married... But call of duty... Dear god, my brain would have been scrambled. Aaaahh...
