Why I hate re-tuning after break in...

I only have three cars broken in... LMQ, RS6 Avant 08', and now my Avantador.

My Avant I was never able to beat my non-broken in time of I think 10.289. I have given up tuning her but shes still my favorite car to race!

My LMQ... she runs GREAT at 8.91X not the fastest but im happy.

Now my Avantador was a total let down. pre break in I hit 10.040 and after break in my best was 10.004!!! I thought I could break into the 9's but after an hour of tuning I couldnt!!! I took her online as is and only lost to two others. One dude also launched in 1st and 2nd just depended on how he felt I guess and the other ran an AT (boooooo)! They would get me by 3/4 to full car and... always off the line.

I tried and tried to tune for a 1st gear launch but when I get my 1st gear below 4.000 my final would be to low. Same the other way where if I got my final to 2.500 - 3.000 my 1st would be way over where I wanted it.

Im not asking for help, just VENTING on the boards a bit!!!
 
If you want help on the avantador, send me a fr on psn. I have a good tune for it. Just keep in mind I'm no pro tuner, but I'm always happy to help.

Thanks Karo! ill try that next time I have a chance to get on. Think wifey hid GT5 from me! I cant find it anywhere, SMH!

weR... you and I are on the same boat. I been tuning for only 2-3 weeks now. Ill remember to send an request over.
 
Karo thanks for the help! I used your tranny as a base and got 9.008 with my suspension. Then I tweaked the gearing w/o touching my final and tweaked some of my camber/toe and managed my best at 8.964!!!

This car can shave off some time still but I don't wanna turn Tweak'er on it! I'm happy with it!

I'm just getting into it. Chevelle, Tempest, and Challenger are what I'll be working with. Got my Chevelle down to 10.050 which just got smoked by some dude says he's hitting 9.80's.
 
I have tunes for all 3, as well as a cuda, mach1, superbee, ect..add me up and we can tune together. You can only tune so much by yourself. It's always good to have someone to swap ideas with.

Hey. Getting into the drag tuning world, eh? I'm on your list already, maybe we can run sometime.
 
Sure thing. I'm no pro tuner but I've been tuning for a year or so for drag. Not the quickest by any means either and I'm still learning. So yeah the more the better.

IMO you can only get better by running others and tuning. The speed test is ok but you can only do so much by yourself.

I feel you, I was doing the same with with Lexus IS F, unbroken I ran 10.242 and after I broke it in & retune quickly cause I was bouncing off the rev limiter was only able to run a best of 10.112....:banghead:

Good finally running with someone from GTP! Didnt get to ask if your ACR was broken in? You got me by 3/4 - 1 car maybe closer I don't remember.
 
Yeah it's broken in trapping 163ish at the shadow. I'll test it on the speed test and let you know what it's running.

Here is the Viper along with the RX7 TC i had out.
