Really Enjoy it when people praise the Game,I do get upset about some things in the game but the main thing is when I fire up the disk I spend 20 minutes before deciding to visit the Ring ,play online ,take photos ,buy a car .......etc.:D

Oh it is a great game if you actually go out and use all the features it has to offer. I myself am at 97% and I tell you, at this point, it becomes more about tuning and purchasing cars while lapping them on favourite tracks. Seasonal events are great updates during the week to keep you going while giving you the much needed xp to be able to unlock further endurance events.

It is really a shame that these boards have turned into such a complain fest... These kind of threads are really refreshing!

I say we make a movement to get all complaint threads moved to a sub forum, there is no reason we should have to weed through countless b***h threads just to find people actually enjoying the game.

I love the way you just feel so immeresed into the game, and driving the 'ring at dawn, beautiful would be an understatement!

like it or not this game was worth the wait, sure it has flaws, but so does every thing in existence, hell if there wasnt flaws we could kiss the posibility of GT6 goodbye.

Gran Turismo has always been about the driving... and whether you admit it or not I think they pretty much hit the nail on the head, not many other games I would play for hours on end.

If GT5prologue is anything to go by, I will be playing this game for years to come!

long live GT :)

I was just thinking the same thing. But if we move threads with complaints into a sub-forum, this will be the only thread in the main forum! It really is a bit depressing to read so many complaints in here.

Thanks be to the OP for starting this one!

EDIT: I just realized I was complaining about so much complaining! Sorry...

too bad pd allows cheating , i mean duping or whatever u wanna call it , anyway i'd be better if pd prevented cheating . i love gt too since gt3 ,but things could have been better .

Things can always be better, nothing is perfect. And let me ask you, how does this so called cheating effect you? What is the big deal?

EDIT:

I apologize, this is not the place for this crap. Do not answer my question. This is a place of only love!

It does have flaws but they don't overshadow the primary activity. The driving keeps me coming back and everything on top is a bonus.
👍
There's much to discuss about this game, but at the end of it all, I love going home after work and firing up the PS3. The driving is really satisfying, and there are so many cars that are just fun to throw around. The UCD is like getting my eBay fix, and I get to drive amazing cars on fantastic race tracks.

No game has to be perfect, but it does have to be enjoyable, and I get a huge buzz from this game.

I do have one huge gripe about this game...it is too addicting!. Like others have said, when I get home from work, on weekends, etc. I just want to play GT5. It's at the expense of doing work around the house, reading, talking to my wife, sleeping, eating, etc. Oh well...there will eventually be time to do those other, less important things!

I've never been hooked on a game so much!! I´ve noticed there are people who complain about it but they can´t stop playing

Yeah it´s very addicting

You know I have to chime in on this. ;)

Yes, I would have preferred a slightly different game than this. Yes, there are reasons to complain a lot.

BUT, like many of you guys, coming home means I can head to the track for some tangible, visceral racing the likes of which I've never experienced in any other game. In no other game can I take a rendition of my personal real life car, looking and feeling just about right, to a virtual Nurburgring which is correct to the centimeter, race into the night, and then watch the sunrise.

I can watch fireworks. And enjoy them!

And I can race against bots which are much better than the naysayers will admit. No, this isn't just a driving game, which it is. It's still the best racer around, to my estimation, and likely will be till its successor arrives. And with each patch and update, it just gets better and better.

Long live the king.

It does what every GT game from the very beginning has accomplished:

It makes you want to play it.

Regardless of any flaws, it's just satisfying to pick a ride you like (and there's
a lot to like) and throw it around any track. Most of them are challenging
enough to max out your best performance and afterwards feel good about it.

I love it :)

I love it to, if I didn't I wouldn't waste my time playing and I wouldn't have had signed up here in the first place :p

I also love the Standard cars.

There just aren't enough Premiums to satisfy me by a long shot. Cockpit view is not only too low, I prefer roof cam. I'd be missing literally hundreds of cars if Kaz hadn't ported all those Standards. And I'd miss them a lot. Currently, I have several hundred Standards I've bought with the purpose of racing them. Quite a few I bought in threes so I can tune one and "race mod" one, leaving one stock, but even with just one of each, I'd have well over 300 Standard cars. About all I've done for a month is grind for funds to dive into the Used Car Lot, and other than the ones I buy for paint chips (GAH!), there are usually two or three gems I've been waiting for. Strangely, some of the Standards have more bodykit options, but I can deal with that. Yes, the Premiums are cooler, look nicer, take better photos, usually have the better bodykit options, and you can change and paint the stupid rims for those harping on that point. But I'm in racing heaven, having so many well rendered and realistic rides to play with.

Eventually I'll play with Photo Mode seriously and crack open the Course Maker, and lose even more of my free time to this monster of a game.

The one recurring theme I notice in this thread is the praise of the driving in this game. Which I whole heatedly agree with (to some degree, some of you guys are taking it a bit too far, lol). But what you guys don't understand not everyone bought the game strictly as a driving simulator (even though that's what they call it). I think a HUGE majority bought it for the racing. Believe it or not, although extremely closely related, racing and driving are different things.

As others have said, it's great to see a positive thread on this game. It's far from perfect, but if you take it for what it is, you'll see that it's a very dynamic game on many levels outside of the actual driving and tuning physics, etc. I'm another guy that just loves coming home and firing up the PS3 simply to enjoy the driving experience. I'd love to see a more in depth online experience with an update!

"Im just gunna ruin the thread flow for no reason so I can educate these people on the difference between Racin and Drivin"

Thats you.

I love driving online with other GTPlanet members. Driving online with people upholding the spirit of the game is unmatched. For all the flaws in GT5 I will keep coming back until 6 is out.

Anyone who likes intense racing as well as relaxed fun drives please add me to your psn. GTP_tyl0r_r

Real simple, go and play a game that gives you the RACING experience you crave. Obviously GT5 doesn't live up to your standards.

As for this thread....yes...we need more like it. I haven't missed a day playing since it's release.

Racing is what I'm doing, off line, and I'm enjoying it immensely. ;) Okay, much of it is grinding for cash, but I take breaks from "work" to enjoy a race after a while. What some of you critics seem to never mention who are glancingly criticizing the bots, are what games have better bots. The only thing I dislike about GT5's bots is how they tend to brake too early and too hard through turns. But I've heaped criticism on every game's bots.

I'm curious as to how you're contributing to the thread subject with your post. Or are you just here to school us enthusiastic dummyheads with a bucket of cold water wisdum?

Glad to see a thread celebrating the love for this game. I really have no complaints other than I wish I was a better driver.

I was enjoying this game so much since release day, and then 2 weeks ago, I broke my right foot pretty badly. Needed surgery. Recovery time: 3 months. One of the first thoughts that went through my head was: "Oh No, no more GT5!".

But then I learned to drive with my left foot. My wife actually encouraged me to play, hoping it would translate to real life...so she could stop driving me everywhere. Well, today, I drove to work for the first time with my left foot, and I can look forward to playing GT5 when a I get home, albeit not as well, but still...

Game is easily the best racer on console,, it has flaws, annoyances. I cant do enduro's until a save feature is in (Busy life), a-spec is really lacking in events. But with seasonal events, and updates its already a much better game then day 1. I'm sure more updates will only make it better. I just hope more a-spec events with restrictions, manufacturer championships, etc...

Just keeping the love going...

But my cats hate this game, because they don't get petted as much any more.
