The problems with PD's GT5 and how GT6 could be effected:
2. Although I recommend PD to keep them, all those maitas/skylines/etc are bloat, and this does only apply for duplicates and not cars such as the Honda city turbo
3. There aren't enough tracks, because we already have played allot of the tracks and just porting them will make the game boring.
4. Rallying isn't as mature as it should be.
5. NASCAR is filled with new stuff but then doesn't make it more interesting.
6. GT5 feels more like a Alfa Romeo then a real solid foundation.
But then here's what PD should do:
1. license more cars that can be created using code reusing such as the Ferrari FXX, Buggati Veyron SS
2. Create more variations of tracks.
3. Since Porsche is out of the question due to licensing issues (blame EA), license and create premium rufs to fill the gap.
4. Because there are car licensing wars in video games, license useful and preferably fast cars from the lesser known: Hennesey, Zenvo, insert your own here
5. Make rallying a essential reason why you should by the game and enhance it by perhaps adding: more events, having more realistic tracks, endurance, etc
6. Remove the bloated cars in GT6 and instead relicense missed favorites from the previous games.
7. Create a Top Gear/ PD relationship, and I mean a big one, one that one can call GT6 as TG6.
8. Get more tracks and ditch the cape ring in favor for other tracks.
9. Build more rain tracks and also build more city tracks and also have rain versions.
10. Stop using Thusiba (sorry for spelling mistake admins)
11. Focus on quality and cars and not quantity, I don't care if GT6 has only 500 cars if all of them are good and premium
12. Make the UI better, make GT5 feel brand new.
13. AI, it's about intelligence and not better driving, please focus on that.
This on top of my head and I did my best on spelling. Please make meaningful arguments and not the "I want Porsche!" argument that appears a million times or so.
