you're telling me that when we've completed 8 out of 10 races in a championship- we can't exit out to "my home" and save like all other gran turismo's?

Really, we have to just leave the playstation on and come back later?

👎

the milk's gone BAD!!

We should be able to exit a championship at any time, go to my home and save the game, enter other race events, and generally do whatever the heck we want- just next time you go back to that particular championship, you are right back where you left off.

My goodness, that is just depressing.

I don't know, PD must assume that a player will want to complete a championship in less than an hour, they reduced the laps in championship races and removed the ability to save mid-championship.

Makes a bit a mockery of things like the NASCAR races and the JGTC (which doesn't even have a championship but three separate events).

I have to agree. Some things in the game make no sense at all. And this is one of them.

Because as we know in real life, you get zero downtime between championship races. Next event halfway across the world? No problem, the finish line of the previous track will automatically teleport you to the starting grid of the next one. Saves wasting time with photos and other miscellaneous enjoyable activities.

What you can do (not sure exactly if it can be done in GT4) is if you have a big enough lead or at the beginning part of the race, you could lock the other drivers into finishing where they were currently running. If the best driver other than you starts 12th, you could effectively skip a race with no penalty.

I am lost, Can you explain in more details.:nervous:

NO! Please do not explain that Blitz...

let's keep this post on topic, by all means.

( by 'on topic' I mean 'useful' or 'to meaningful ends' )

All Blitz is saying is that its possible to skip one race as long as all the others are won. I think that's what he's saying at least.

I turned off my PS3 in the middle of a championship series to see if it auto-saves. It does not. :(

@Rossticles- I tried the same thing. Fail.

Does PD employ competent testers? Are they paid in fiat american dollars? That is the only reason I can come up with as to why they would want to **** us so bad!

:scared:

That's what I was saying but I managed to essentially skip 2 races in B-Spec.

I dont ever remember being able to leave a championship mid way and then coming back to it. The whole point of the championship is that you need to run all the races with the same car and tunning parts. it would be no different then a regular 2 or 3 race series where you can take the money you have just won and go buy parts to make the car faster .

No. You wouldn't be able to modify the car being used. Clearly.

And YES-- in GT3 and GT4 you could exit to the main menu and save the darn game! Are you seriously poo-pooing having that option? Wow..

:boggled:

It is a long time since i played GT4 but if i recall correctly you could save , but the next time you played it loaded the Championship and you had to finish or quit to escape it. you could not gain ground by modding the car. I found it useful to use as i could turn the ps2 off and then pick up where i left off shame you can't get a save for the A Spec endurance races that does the same.. Locks the game exactley where you saved it and you have to finish or quit the endurance race.

Exactly this... I can't for the life of me understand why the two "time management" options (the one stated above and the ability to swap between A/B Spec in endurance races) were omitted from GT5.

Additionally, as researchALLwars says... your car was 'locked' if it was entered in a current championship in GT4.

I haven't run a multi race C'ship (JTCC) yet, nor reached the endurance races, but if this is the case, it's another sad aspect of GT5...:
Along with the fact we can no longer do duel A/B-spec enduroes....very sad indeed...

If I recall, the save aspect was very handy for that quick wash or oil change too...;)
Over the course of several long races, HP would decline, save game, oil change...back into it. :)

Yes, I agree whole heartedly with the save game part, but what is so unlrealistic about upgrading your car or maintaining your car midway through a season? I mean it's not like F1 cars and NASCARs aren't rebuild from the ground up between every race now are they... or for that matter fixed and the oil changed at a minimum!

Nope sorry . I really don't know what PD was thinking half the time. But just like searching the used car lot over and over and OVER just to find the car you want, it is really well 🤬. I hope PD does something about this in an update, but my gut tells me they won't:grumpy:. They'll just continue to drive some people mad .

wasn't polyphony quoted (pre-release) as saying that we will be able to save in the middle of the Endurance races? I could've swore I read that in one of Jordan's posts.

Neither that nor championship exit/save exist. What?

Dude.

I know man share your pain ='(

PD probably doesnt want us to save so we dont turn off the PS3 on and off until we get the prize car we wanted. Just like in GT3.

Surely it would have been easy to leave the mid-championship save option in the game.
Even if they had allowed Bob to share the endurance races it would have been as useful as a mid race/championship save.

That's nothing... Aerosmith don't remember making two of their albums. They still did though!

In previous GT games you could exit a championship between events. Returning to the championship would give you the option of continuing where you left off or starting over.

The car that you were running the championship in would not be usable in any other context (oil change, other races, testing etc.) until you'd completed/quite the championship to which it was locked.

PD didn't need to reinvent anything here!

👍 👍

BlackSeries
So is this has been problem fixed?

Yeah. You now have the option to suspend a championship and come back to it later. 👍
