hi everyone

i noticed this last night but why is every link on this site underlined?

it just doesn't look right anymore in some posts and so on

i've tried Internet Explorer 7 [recently upgraded from 6] and Firefox 1.5[recently upgraded from 1.0]

I think so you don't over-read the link and miss it. You know, just to indicate that is not just any word.

I don't have a problem with it.

Ciao!

What's underlined?

Nothing is underlined for me.

edit: oh wait, I thought you were talking about the kontera links.

Underlining links makes them easy to spot if, for example, you’re colourblind. Plus, most links on the internet are underlined, so it’s a familiarity thing, too.

They aren't.

Within a thread, people's usernames are not underlined, despite being both links and rollovers.
Within a forum, the thread starter's username is not underlined.

it's been in every post, even if i don't click underline, and it's been like that only since yesterday

Underlining links is a web browser option. The ones that Famine noted are designed in by vBulletin. For most all of the other links, (In IE) click "tools" on your top tool bar, click on "Advanced" and pan through that list to the "Underline Links" choices. Set to your preference.

As for why it changed, you must have upgraded, reset or adjusted something. Or someone on your computer did. Or even IE downloaded a new update and reset the options.

All "standard" links here have been underlined here for about 5 years now. It's a more than common design feature on the web for the sake of usability and I don't have any plans on changing it.
