Why is it that the background crowd are only men?

In all seriousness, there are supposed to be a couple of topless females in GT4's Cote d'Azur, but I've never been able to find them so this could be a rumor. Some people swear they exist, but I have yet to see an actual picture.

The "no females" thing sort of bothers me a little bit, from an immersion stand point. Every time I watch a real race on Speed TV, it's obvious there are plenty of female fans (or just gals who begrudgingly come with their boyfriends or familes).

It gives the game (seriously) a bit of a homo-ish feeling that it's only guys watching me race around and stuff in GT5. Eww! :yuck:

So they just need to put them in the game with >:-( faces.

Well, that is a pretty sexy racing suit you've got on your bob, bro.

In all seriousness, this is probably a regional thing.

I know every time I see a group of men I assume they have sex with each other. :dunce:

Really? A "homo-ish" feeling?

Yea, like a bunch of dudes are staring at me, and it's only dudes. It's like showing up at a party and only guys are there...and they REALLY want to watch me do my thing. Eww!

I don't know if anyone had asked this question before, It seems like a trivial question, but I just noticed it and can't help but wonder why did PD opt to have only men on the crowds cheering during races and photomode? or am I just mistaken?

Well of course with the exception of this one:

Bern - Market Street by Winstonlights, on Flickr

please do share your opinion and insights :)

Seeing how she constantly ignores my multimillion Zonda R and Mclaren F1 when it is 10 feet away, not a surprise that no woman in PD's world would care to watch a race!

I'm pretty sure FM3 has women in their crowds, so... it's official.

FM3 > GT5

They've gone for work as your B-spec drivers;)
More like at home making sandwiches for our Bobs! hahaha

Surely there must be like two or three women floating around the site somewhere that want to make some sort of comment on this? Surely the site isn't 100% male..., right?

I keep hearing this, but I don't want to believe it...

:nervous:

Don't worry, it's not better. Some people just like it more.

Also, this thread is absolutely ridiculous. You guys are all talking like some sex-depraved lock-ins. Let's see some hands, has anyone in this thread actually met, conversed with, or come on contact with a real-life woman? lol

One thing's for sure, when I'm plowing along at 200 mph, the last thing I'm thinking of is the male/female ratio of the spectators. :p

One too many gay designers at PD.

But kidding aside ... perhaps its because the auto racing fan base has traditionally been predominately male.

Yev
Because women are where they're supposed to be - in the kitchen and not on a race track.

Harsh.

TBH you don't see many women at race meetings, so perhaps PD didn't think it was worth adding another model to the crowds. I still think they could have added one or two, but it's not important really, I spend most of my time looking at the track, not the crowds.
We have a Woman and a Dog in the game, what more could a bloke want:sly:

Theres also a random old guy on a bridge who has some significance that isn't explained, you just get a trophy for having a photo of him.

I'm thinking we need to search all the crowd figures to see if any of them have their johnson exposed.....my theory is their are only guys in the game cause the designers couldnt stand the idea of women kicking our ass, in 'our' game no less, and so made the ultimate distraction to women: a sea of men!...and if thats so, I'd bet some of the artist decided to up the ante and hide a few johnsons in plain sight...highly effective subliminal stuff :D...this would of course cause even the most hardcore female driver to at least be slightly off pace :D

lol in all seriousness, would it be because this game is rated "E" for Everyone? And in this class of rating, you cannot have any potential sexually-explicit content (ie. women with little clothing, hence we see a fully-dressed women talking on the cellphone in OP's post)

Had this been rated "T" for Teens or "R" for Restricted, it could be very different :sly:

But there were girls in little clothing in the NFS series especially the hot flag girls in the Underground series, and those were E for everyone games. In Juiced 2, hot chicks were there also ;)👍, but guess what?.........
That a E for everyone game also.

It would be great to have hot babes/import models/umbrella girls posing on the cars in photo mode, that would be epic. :D:tup:

There are no chicks (I guess) so that the game can be sold in the arab countrys
I shouldn't laugh because that's incredibly racist but I just couldn't help myself, classic! :D
How is that racist?

GT5 is a global game. I believe it has something to do with this.
Think of islamic countries, even moderate ones.

You could be right... which just enhances the fact we live in a very,
very crazy world...
:yuck:

I hope this is not the reason...
May be every person in the crowd is a Polyphony employee? :sly:

There was girls in the crowd since GT2... sort of... clue: they appeared first at Tahiti, then at Monaco, but have disappeared from GT5. :sly:

However, the women who sits there in Bern can also be seen waving at the driver at the end of the license tests. Perhaps she's the driver's wife?

J2HIN is rated PEGI 12+ here in the UK. Also, TDU2 is rated 12+ for 'mildly suggestive themes'. However, NFS games hardly ever go over 7+.

EDIT: Whoops, double post. Sorry mods.

I stopped at Sarthe once to look at the spectators. With as little detail as PD put into the fans, why did they even bother putting them in the game to begin with? Honestly, who cars if there aren't any women spectators? Is everyone driving slow enough to notice stuff like that? lol
