Why is the Formula Gran Turismo a standard car?

Just wondering because it has a cockpit view and it's not the only standard car with a cockpit view.

Open cockpit standards were still modelled with cockpit details, albiet some not quite as well as premiums. It is still stunning to race the FGT in cockpit view. Only way to go.

Then understand the difference between a premium F1/Single Seat Racer and a standard one. 👍

Although I would like to see the driver be properly seated. In his current position, a major collision could be very Gilles Villenueve-like. No offense intended.

Some of the open cockpit race cars are this way too. They'd look a little weird blacked out, and since they're open, they had to design the inside anyway, since it is possible to see it from an outside camera view.
