Why is the pricing of DLC so strange in EU vs US?

Everything separate:
US = $17
EU = €15

All in one:
US = $12
EU = €12

Which is highly illogical!
First of all, why do the Americans get more discount on the aio pack?
Secondly:
€1 is not $1
€1 = $1.36

I'd really like it if the full pack would be €10 so price differences aren't that big..

Apparently you have never, ever looked at comparable consumer goods from North America vs. Europe

You're lucky...the Australians have it much worse.

Of course I have and that's still utter BS. Because when the dollar was still more expensive than the Euro, the prices were 'higher' here than in the US.

Of course I know they always take note of €1=$1 since the Euro is rated higher than the Dollar (Which is BS like I mentioned above), but that still does not calculate why the Americans infact get more discount..

So is this the pricing we can expect going forwards?

£0.50 per track layout
£0.40 per premium car
£0.02 per item or paint

That seems pretty reasonable to me, compared to other DLC costs.

FYI - The US total is $18, not $17... ($5+8+3+2 or $12)

I'm not sure why the US gets a discount, but I'm calling bonus. I'm in!

I think there's a typo in one of the prices.

They're all $1:€1 conversions, which sucks, but it's usually what happens, except for the Racing Gear pack which is $2.99 / €1.99. It's probably supposed to be €2.99.

Could be way worse. I was expecting just 1 course to be $4.99+.

It's because Sony don't take into account such things as fluctuating exchange rates, they set a fixed price for content on PSN which they feel is reasonable to each region. I'd sooner pay American prices for almost anything but I don't live in the US so what they pay over there doesn't concern me. You're not supposed to compare your prices with another country, you're supposed to decide if it's good value for what you're getting in your own currency.
