why is the Prius tc so annoyingly loud?

For a Hybrid, it makes too much noise!

How much, or little, noise should it make?

It may be a hybrid, but it's main source of power is still a petrol engine. Also the CVT means it's at high revs, and therefore high noise levels, constantly.

ps. If i see a Prius on t'motorway, I HAVE to overtake it. There's just something in me makes me do it....

The fact its hybrid has nothing to do with noise since it still has a petrol engine.

Its just that its a race car, with a race car exhaust and the the CVT means its almost always running at high revs.

The Honda Insight is also a Hybrid, but much Quieter.

The external sounds can be as high as the limitation of your tolerance if the car has an engine with high revolutions.

Just because the powerplant is small and works with a electric motor doesn't mean there can't be other sources of noise.

I tried it today after making cosmetic changes. My speakers were on a loud volume. Shocked the hell outta me. It really annoying, as it sounds like a lawn mower with something wrong in the motor. But it handles great. Just not happy with the noise. Most annoying car I've ever driven in the game.

Personally, I find it less annoying than the street version. The TC seems to have a much smoother sound that sort of blends into the background after a while.
