Why is the x1 so hated?

What they should do with the x1 is the same thing they do to karts racing simple as that. You can't race go karts with any other cars but go karts the same thing should be done with the x1

Only in online & A-spec modes though, I think I speak for everyone when I say that BoB needs that car more than any other :lol:

I've been thinking. Alot of car companies concepts are made of clay that don't move. They use clay models for styling and refining shapes in wind tunnels. Alot will never make it into production. I'm pretty sure the R35 GTR Tokyo show car was made of clay. Thats why its premium but has no interior view. The shape developed into R35 GTR we've got today.
The X2010 is a fantasy car. Alot of concepts start as fantasy. But its real in the sense that u can touch it and its physically there. Those pics above i posted? I took them. But its not real in the sense that it can't move under its own power or be able to be driven by a person. The GT series has always had fantasy cars/concepts. If they didn't work with Citroen. The GT by Citroen wouldn't of become a working concept. In fact Citroen were building 6 working Gt by Citroens planned for buyers. Maybe a less extreme X2010 or at least some parts of the design maybe seen again. Citroen have gone further with the technology revealing the Survolt and Revolt which also may go into production. These 3 citroens may not of been made if it wasn't for the collaboration between Citroen & PD. So i believe its a good thing cars like this do appear in games like GT5. And yes i know earlier i said it wasn't real. But it all depends what you mean by real.

@Jubby. not as much thought went into the technology as you may think. Closed wheels (Rear of X2010) where used in Grp.C cars in the 1980's, discs covering wheels (Front wheels X2010) where used in Grp.B rallying 1980's, Fancars have been around since the 60's. Underfloor Air maniupulation was banned from F1 also 1980's. And it has a jet fighter style cockpit Jets being around since the mid 40's. Its all been used before. Just in one bundle. But not new.

The X2010 is the only car Bob can drive better than me. :)

This idea is completely pointless and ridiculous. The car can already be left out through restrictions, it would be better to just give the host the option to set what cars out of all cars can enter rather than useless and arbitrarily say "no, you can only use this when x", and karts shouldn't be barred from racing with cars in the first place.

Try to actually solve a problem, not make it worse.
 
Speaking of car exclusions, didn't Ferrari say they would only let their F1 cars in the game if you couldn't drive them with anything else?

I can't argue with that, but until a concept is built, it remains a concept, an idea, a construct of thought. Invariably when a concept that is vastly radical or ambitious is built or become an reality, that reality pales in comparison to its concept.

I love cars, but the X2010/2011 is like horrible fanfic in the form of a car.
 
I suspect that's exactly what has happened. I highly doubt that it has anything to do with 'fairness' to other GT5 users... Surely it's because Ferrari doesn't want to see their F1 cars beaten by some other cars, or even compared to other cars. I would especially think this is true with regard to competing against a Polyphony Formula car.

Either way, surely there is some reason that GT5 doesn't allow you to use a Ferrari F1 car to race anything but another Ferrari F1 car... and since Polyphony allows you to use a X1 car against virtually anythong else, it's not due to some sort of 'fairness' doctrine.

I actually find these cars to be a very fun thing to have in GT5. The only thing I would like more, is if they allowed me make my own car, that is... if they allowed me to make my own concept with my own parameters for downforce, HP, etc...

Having said that, I don't really understand why they don't make it REALLY easy for people to exclude these types of fantasy cars from races.

I never said new technology, I said amazing. It takes a true innovator to come up with each piece, and then another brilliant person to formulate how to put it together. There isn't much left in racing other than rehashing old ideas or manipulating current ones.
 
am i the only person here who actually enjoys driving the X2010 and doesnt hit everything?.. Well i hit all the walls on street circuits but never other people :P
as someone said early on thoug, i only really get it out if the host has as well or over 50% of the lobby has aswell

It's all the same. It can look as ridiculous as it wants to, that doesn't make it any less realistic.

Quantum Mechanics completely defies common sense and the everyday world, but it's undeniably true. If you want to show that the X1 is ridiculous, ignore what it "looks like" and actually show if it's realistic or not.

The F-22 has reportedly exceeded its design goals despite being the most radical fighter concept to date. To say that something extreme can't meet its goal is nonsense. The chance of success might be lower, but to say anything beyond that is to make things up.

The X1 is no fanfic, it's more of an engineering concept, there are miles of difference between the two.
 
Just inherited a `drag no x1` room at sarthe, someone mentioned the x1, so we all got them & had 5 blasting down the straight, which was fun for about 5 mins, then we got bored, so had a good, close roadster TC race at tsukuba, which was even more fun. :)
 
Anyone can get good at driving the X1 with some practice and full downforce. Give it a chance and you might enjoy the rush.

I have searched, but probably used the wrong terms, as I haven`t found the answer.

Why does no-one like the x1 online?

I`ve just been in a `fun race, any car allowed` room, checked the hp limits & detuned the x1 to it`s minimum, so it just crept in.

track changed to the ssr4 I think (wuith the 2 tunnels), got neck & neck with the leader (the host) in a gtr, both going flat out through the first tunnel & he suddenly shoves me into the wall & then everyone else piles into me!

It was a good, close, clean race up to then, then it all went tits up, because I inched ahead of the host & he didn`t like it.

got a message after the race saying "you know why I rammed you, don`t you?"

So, why, when it`s de-tuned & a close race, is the x1 so hated online?

I would'nt say it was hated as such, but as stated there does appear to be a lot of youngsters using it online causing unnesesary hate. If used in a controlled room/manner you can have some very good racing, yes its mayhem but if your room has competant drivers its enjoyable on the right track. I usually leave it till the last race of the night as trying to race normal cars after is hard.
 
I rarely see kids ramming with the x1. Usually they are in a gtr. The x-cars are difficult to drive until you put in the time and effort. It's much easier to simply say you hate it. It's a shame really as I love the car and want more people to race online. No, not on Daytona, unless you mean the road course. So starting Jan 1st make a point of spending more time in a x-car. Start on ovals if you must.
 
No offence to you friend, but I dont like people who detune it in order to enter. Thats why I put 790 PP max, I think X1 cant be detuned lower than 880....but just to be sure. Why detune it, and not enter with a normal car?
 
i hate it b/c im just trying to have fun in my new car and a guy says "kick the x1 dude/kid" im like wtf? i dont even ram people or anything they just see it and rage
 
The X1 is annoying for alot of reasons.

For one example these 11 and 15 year olds goes a round ramming everyone
in the lobby getting the X1 known as an trolling vechicle.

Than people think its cheating when ever you take the X1 to any online lobby.

Thats what i've heard.
 
It's the 11 year olds ramming people that are annoying, not the car. Still, I see very little if it online. I am however seeing more people racing the X1 and that is awesome. I don't know how or why, but racing the X1 has helped me with my driving skills in 400 to 550 pp cars. I'm not joking.
 
look at there transmission settings if its still set to auto after the games been out this long kick em out ,my game my choice who i race with
