Why is there no BMW E30 or E36 in the game?

PD even put about seven E30M3 cards in the museum...but no car in the game...weird!

Wow, that is just cruel and unusual.

It's like they know how important the M-Division was in the golden years of racing (80s and 90s imo) and they blatantly left them out of the game.

We're also missing the 507 & the Z8.

E39 M5 and an E46 M3 are a must. They were the most iconic cars BMW made at the time. I know the m3 is in there but it looks like crap. Also the 335i. Fastest car in its class is missing too.

It's ok though at least we got a dihatsu midget.

What? There weren't either in GT3 or 4, to get them in GT5 they would have had to get one in pristine condition and then set up time for a shoot. When they get time to include cars they will, until then you can deal with it.

I have an E36 M3 IRL and its really disappointing I don't get to use my car in the game.
Mee too. 98 M3 Sedan.

I honestly could not believe there are 1000+ cars and 2 of the most iconic and classic German cars (E30 & E36) are not included in "The Real Driving Simulator" :yuck:

Me three. '99 M3 coupe. Definitely feeling left out:idea:

It's weird because there were two BMW E36 models in GT2 a regular hatch like version and an M variant. there also might have been an E30 tossed into the mix. As to why they are absent from GT5? I don't know and the E30 M3 evolution happens to be one of Kaz's favorite cars.

I ask the very same question every single day.

E36 M3 is my dream car. Kinda expensive down here in south america.

I agree, every BMW mentioned in this thread should be in GT5, i don't recall seeing an E30 of any kind in any Gran Turismo game!
The E500 Mercedes would have been a great addition too....
What i would also like to know is why are the Mini's old and new classed as German cars when the Nissans are classed as Japanese?
Logic seems to have taken a back seat!

There are a lot of great cars that PD missed put on. I am thinking it is because of licensing issues. I do not understand that, why would you allow only certain games use your cars? You would think companies would want marketing from everything they can get. I guess the game companies become greedy? I would love to have a E30 and E36, but who knows if we will ever get one.

I think it has nothing to do with licenses. I always thought that you could get any car once the manufacture says yes (except for formula 1 or other series). I think it comes down their decision.

Hence getting a licence to use it :).

I've been lucky enough to have owned a '94 E36 M3 (2 - door) & a '98 4 - door. Epic cars, both! The normally aspirated M Power straight six motor was never matched by the competition. That was the mystique of the M3, Then, after the E46, BMW went the V8 route... :indiff:

Actually, that V8 is lighter than S54B32 R6 engine thanks to magnesium. What is worse, the whole car is heavier, somewhere about E39 M5 level and significantly softer. Nimbleness and efficiency went to hell...

Both M3 and M5 lines of cars are a must for GT6, as are vintage 3.0CSL, M1, M635CSi and racers like this:

Yeah, the new ones leave me cold. Let's just hope for GT6...

Really lucky! :)

I'm happy that for the next one they'll go inline 6 again... the turbocharged inline 6 engines are great ones, but they never will beat the normally aspirated ones for me...

And now they'll call the coupés as 4 series.

M4?! :scared:

Seriously what the hell was PD thinking?

The E30 M3 & E36 M3 are some of the purest, most passionate sports cars ever made.

I honestly think they just hate BMW because they only include ~8 or so BMWs in the game.

I've owned 2 E30s and currently drive an E36. I have a hard time believing that they are missing as well. These are important cars in the evolution of sports cars.

There are many dissapointing aspects to the game. This fact, coupled with lack of spa francorchamps and the inability to put aftermarket wheels on standard cars really is fail.

:nervous:

The only thing missing now is those cars :)

Some people don't, the E92 M3 has made these mentioned cars rather obsolete.

Doubt that would happen when there are much better cars that would be considered for inclusion instead.

What can be so much better than an E30 as a pure drivers car?

Ferrari F40! :D

btt:

What buggs me more is, that they included the E90 coupe and not the sedan. I would like to do Audi vs BMW vs MB shootouts online, but it makes no sense to race the RS6 Avant against a M3 coupe and a C63 AMG Sedan. I know, by that time the C63 AMG Coupe was not released, but they could have included the M3 sedan and the RS4 too.
