Anyone Know why you cant ever add Turbo kits to american cars like the corvette and viper

Would had loved to recreate the Hennessey Twin Turbo Dodge Viper SRT

I think the more usual thing to do is add a supercharger than a turbo, now if you could do both? well, one could only imagine :D

Not a clue, same problem with some other cars like ferrari and few hondas, etc.

I can only hope it was license problem and not PD just deciding for us.

As far as I know, Ferrari at least was down to licencing. Not sure about the others, though.
Could have been for balancing, so you can't make a 1,000bhp beast out of any car, but that's just speculation.

IT PROBably is due to power balance. its kinda silly if you ask me; there is a tuner car, or its one of the SEMA cars, that's turbo'd but you cant turn around and turbo the premium/standard car?! Can't remember exactly if it's a standard model, premium or both.

I've often wondered that too. For instance, the 00 Camaro and Corvette Race Cars are turbocharged and I like to take them around the Turbo High Speed Ring event for a quick 3 laps for 50K credit (something other to do other than grinding). Turbocharging would be a great option for the other Camaros, Vettes and Vipers, there's tons of aftermarket turbo kits in the real world. Hmmmph?

Because a 1500hp viper would be slower than a 1000hp viper. Can only do one lap and would need to constantly pit for fuel. Not to mention how few people can even handle 600hp+ cars.

NSX + Twin Turbo = Win.

Would've been nice for the RM version at least.

+1. Kind of sucks that the most you can get out of any roadgoing NSX is something like 350-400 hp. Still, I think Madman is right--it's probably a game balance issue. In any event, a 1600hp car is not going to be all too quick around a racetrack.

how is that even an issue?

nobody is going to get killed if they can't handle 1600hp, let the players decide for themselves!

No, its that the fact that you will be in my way blowing smoke everywhere. Demolition Darby is for another game.

I don't think a 1600hp RWD is impossible to handle even on sports soft, what is drivable depends on the skill of the driver, I certainly don't need a nanny to tell me what is safe to drive and what is not.

given the hyper grippy racing softs in this game, 1600hp is hardly a big deal.

This annoys me too. It's very common to run a single or twin turbos on V8s and it's not all that uncommon these days to run both a supercharger and turbo on the one engine like VN_Lukes RB30 Commodore and a few others that are kicking around the place, the result of running both can be very impressive with 20psi before 2000 rpm

LOL @ this thread,

Would love to see people try handle 1600HP in real life, Ide be willing to bet my house + car that you will all fail!

Beauty of the NSX is that it doesn't need huge amounts of power to make it fast around the track.

And something around 350-400 hp range is a viable aftermarket power range for a daily driver if one chooses to.

We should be able to make our own decisions. They should also increase what we can use to filter out whats on cars for online. That way those of you against it, don't have to deal with 1600bhp lunatics bouncing everywhere. That doesn't mean you should punish those of us who want and can handle the 1600hp beast. Yes, it'd be insane to drive. But its far from impossible. Its called finesse, not to mention tuning.

Whats up with the Choice Police lol. Whats wrong with having the choice that also reflects RL hp levels that these cars are capable of making? You can have a car with 1500hp and also choose to use the smaller turbos for 1000hp or less to suit the track or your driving capabilities.

Who cares who can handle 1600hp in RL, this is a game that brings to your home cars and driving environments most of us will never see in RL. They promise a real driving simulator so lets get some more "real" in it if they can.

It would be awesome if engine swaps could be possible! In RL i once drove a 800hp turbo mustang and it scares the **** out of me, so amazing, now guess with double of hp.... To come back at the game, i'd love to try to handle a 1600hp beast on a hot lap at the Nordschleife.

No need to imagine, the Delta S4 has both strapped to a pretty tiny engine, yet produces 400+bhp. Madness.

This is one area where Forza 3 is better than GT5, though, the tuning I mean. No question. The only bad thing about Forza 3 is that it's possible to completely destroy the car in question; if you put a 3S-GTE in an AE86 and give it an AWD drivetrain, surely then it's just a Celica GT-Four with a lighter body? But whatever, nothing a little self restraint can't fix, and at least you could turbo/supercharge things like a 350Z...

What I would like to see is accurate superchargers for the classic muscle cars. Where are the cut out hoods with huge roots-type blowers sticking out and triple-butterfly intakes?
