I was wondering if any of you guys can think of a reason PD is not putting those thrilling events in a separate section of A Spec; they are probably the most entertaining i drove in GT6 and it's sad to see them go forever.

Your thoughts?

Yup pd calls them "survival" races...

It would make sense, if they were planning on adding to them to have a separate section for them like the Senna events. Or even tack them on in the last section of career with the endurance races. Sadly, it looks like they were one off holiday treats from PD to us. That's a shame because I agree, it was some of the best racing I have had in GT6 since I purchased it 13.5 months ago.

too random though. i did one try and got second place with ~22:15 for my time (mm:ss), first place AI was 21:11 (i remember the number for that one)
next try i got a time of ~21:30, and second place AI did a ~22:45.

so between the 2 races their best time was 1:30 different, it went from being a challenge that annoyed me to a complete joke. i like the random rainfall so you cant plan ahead what tires you want to use, but that just means i use intermediate rain the entire time and pitted once or maybe twice depending on if i could keep them an extra lap.

if they wanted to do survival right, i would want to see it be 20 laps, with slower progression on the weather. that way i can try to go with racing slicks at times, and full wet other times. but when its dry for a half lap and 100% another half lap, there was never a good choice other than intermediate.

To be honest that randomness is exactly what i enjoied the most out of the races :D It's not like you have to win every and each time, right?

Sadly I missed the whole holiday events and Huge amount of money so I don't know about the 10 laps race. And what's the different between them.

In short challenging races with variable weather condition and that little bit of luck needed thrown in :) i loved racing them in same spec untuned cars, i couldn't win :D but a good fun is in not winning all the time ;)

random is good, but not that kind of random.
we shouldnt have the option to leave and go back in to see a change that drastic, i wanted something close to S ranked races, not B. and the races are not impossible, i made a few bad choices (car and tires) and it cost me, so i corrected those mistakes and expected a challenging but achievable win, instead it was a joke of a race and no feeling of accomplishment.

your quote "not like you have to win every and each time" is backwards, im mad that i won, not that i lost.

No clue how your race went on mate, but i can assure that if you use same untuned car as the AI it's very hard to win, and even to get top 5... Maybe you were madly lucky or you used a LMP car detuned or something that made it very easy.

I agree, the randomness made it interesting and using some of the slower stock race cars provided a challenge. It was also fun trying out different strategies, short pitting or pushing tires an extra lap or so, something that would not have been any use if the cars and weather were so scripted that each run was identical. Playing around with these different strategies is something else that GT6 is sorely lacking in the career mode so I enjoyed that with these challenges.

Does someone tell how is it exactly? is it like Super races with 10 laps instead of 24 minute? any one post couple videos to see it?

check the times in my first post, they were a minute and a half slower between races, i only gained less than a minute switching cars and tires. the issue was with them, not me.

i can only imagine some AI glitch where cars must have stayed out an extra lap thinking their bald tires could handle one more, but ended up getting too much rain and slid out. but there is no way for me to verify because i cant see their lap or sector times or when they pitted. and its almost never the lead car in the beginning that wins, so no way to watch or track it while also racing.

if i could do it again in GT5 style B-spec and watch what they do i could report the bug or dumb ai decisions.

Why just these 2 races? Never understood why PD doesn't let you download seasonal events if you like them after they are finished, perhaps with less pay out once downloaded.
Loads of space to start a "box" your races under the Super or Red Bull icons.
Have 2 boxes if you like split by say road & race car events

This was done in GT5 too if I remember correctly. Holiday events removed then back to the same old same old.

Why? Who knows, but it just makes players get further disappointed in PD's offline race choices. This is why some folks call PD "lazy". There are an infinite amount of events that could be created yet it's still a continued boring formula year after year.

I used a detuned GT500 Supra every time and was such fun. Do miss them and hope PD add more in future.
