Why Rig the Events?

While trying to achieve gold in some of the special events i noticed that something is not right. Here is just "one" example of what i have found.

The event is the AMG Beginner sector 4 :

I have run this event over 100 times in race perfection. I still come up short on the time by 1.4 seconds. So i decided to take a closer look at things. I can beat the "Gold Car" to the first banner at the beginning of the long straight by one second but from there he gains time. Why? Because the car in the "gold time replay" is faster in the straight than the car i am given to use. See for yourself.

Here is a pic of the "Gold time replay". Notice the fence on the right for reference.
Notice the speed of "138".

Now in this next pic you can see that i am just a little closer to the end of the fence. But look at my speed. Its "136". I have never achieved a faster speed than this in all the times that i have ran this event.

Did PD feel the need to rig the events? I say "events" because there are others. The difference of speed down this long straight is about 2 seconds which would allow me to achieve the gold. But as it is now i am just being hacked. And after trying this for 6 hours yesterday and knowing that it is indeed "Rigged" i say screw it:crazy:

It has nothing to do with corner exit speed. The car is at rev limit in a one mile straight. My car is not as fast as the car that was used to achieve the gold time. The above numbers do not lie. I cannot achieve 138mph at rev limit. Also, did you run this before or after the 1.6 update? Did the addition of the engine power slider has some weird effect on this car?

Before you start the race, in the menu there is a button to watch the gold time replay. Start that then change camera to bumper cam to see the speed and tach. This replay finishes at the gold time!

The events are not rigged, however the game is heavily biased towards wheel driving. Some of the golds are crazy hard on the DS3 ( Vettel Challenge for example ) and are only really possible with a wheel.

So math lies? In the above pics the replay of the gold time run is achieving a higher speed down over a mile of straight track. I can assure you that if the car i am given to drive cannot achieve the same speed then it is indeed rigged!
I'm not sure if you believe that math does not lie but that is your choice.

Check this one I made some time ago. I found some time points to go after, from the preview video.... I couldn't find the speed that was used on the straight in the preview, but instead I found it in the corners, that's where you gold it.... And when you hit the straight after the the last double corner, when you go under the big sign or what you call it, you time should be around 1.32, don't worry about the top speed being 138mph on the straight, if you've hit 1.32, you're on your way.

Well Leadpaint, how is it possible then, that many people have golded this one? And if you wish, I'll rerace this one, and gold it again.. No prob at all. Just drive better lines in beginning where there are a lot of corners...

Learn that part of the track, as that's where you'll gain time..
Srsly, sector 2 is harder.. Much harder..

First time I tried this since a couple of months:
2:29.481

My record is a tad better, but hey.. I just showed it's still doable since 1.06 patch

Now you just need to practice Leadpaint..

It has nothing to do with corner exit speed. The car is at rev limit in a one mile straight.

It's not at rev limit, as you're still able to accelerate downhill past the Bilstein sign. You might need to carry more speed out of the corner before the straight to properly maintain your speed going up the slope.

Indeed, at the downhill I managed 231kmh = 144MPH

This is what i said from the start. Work on corners.

To be fair, in my opinion, the sector 4 is difficult... I use DS3 and it took me 12+ hours on this sector alone.
All of the rest, 1 hour at max.... But we are all at different skill levels, some nail it in their 1st try, others just have to be patient and keep working for it.... You're in last group, same as I was and I made it, so keep on trying!

Take a look at this thread - https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=163760. I made it because I couldn't beat the sector either and a lot of great advices was given to me... Helped me a great deal....

Top speed on the straight in my opinion means absoultely nothing. As others have said braking and accelerating out of the turns is where your time will be gained/lost. I would simply suggest working on these areas as I have golded this event as im sure many others have as well. I definately do not feel as if it is rigged.

If you listen, very carefully on that final turn as the car goes by you, very quietly in the background, under the roar of the engines, you can hear us lot laughing at you.

And another time.. 2:28.274

Nah, it's not possible to reach 2:30.000 since patch 1.06:indiff:

proof:

The racing starts at 45 secs..

@Leadpaint

You are using manual shift or automatic? I guess you can get this bit of speed advantage with manual gear changes.

The AI "cheats" in general, could be they have told the AI to match this time and it did what was necessary. Like being slightly faster...

It felt like the circumstances of several special events are staged to me.

Damn 2:32

2 seconds off gold, and I'll be part of the Jeff Gordon group and apparently there are 6,356 Jeff Gordon's in the whole world...

EDIT: 2:31!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111oneeee!!1
