Why the 20 million dollar limit is so good.

It takes ages to save up 20 mil and it gets blown on one car? I like the system in GT4 better.

you can buy send to 2nd account save, next day buy send to 2nd account save buy, next day buy. see you can. then send them back to 1st account save option!

thank you! so you don't spend 1 penny

Yes exactly. You can still get these cars for free without any effort of grinding. So these are not so much "special" cars as the OP may think.

I don't really see the point of the limit at all... what does it matter if someone decides to save up 100 mill and then buy 5 20 mill cars at once?

And if you agree with a limit, I'd say it's still common sense that it should be at least slightly higher than the price of the most expensive car. Yay! I finally got my 20 mill classic! Woohoo! Now I have to win a race so I can change the oil :S (although of course they could just remove the silly need to change oil on a new purchase as well :P)

This thread is full of proof of today's 'I want it now' mentality.
Well, it's either that or the Stockholm-Syndrome mentality of "Let's discuss why <insert weird game restriction/limit> is really a good thing". Quite frankly, I don't like either. ;)

Yeah right, a 20m limit you've spent days grinding to reach, you buy a 20m car, now you have to go grind again just to change it's oil nevermind buy parts. I really wonder what idiot at PD thought that one up.

The limit should be 25 Million Cr. So you would really have to plan to get the penniless trophy. But this is really petty matter.

I got the pennyless trophy the first time I played the game. I bought a Miata, a few parts and I was poor.

I agree with the OP.

This thread is full of proof of today's 'I want it now' mentality.

So when you want it? tomorrow? a month? IRL its ok, but in a game...

I just dont get it why the restriction, if the payout of the game gonna be more "big", ok, but earn 20 mill its hard and you go to spend in one car and then you are broke, dont have any sense for me.

The economy was one thing good in GT series, why they change just now?

It would be nice not to be broke after buying one of the 20 mil cars. I couldn't even afford to change the oil in my new Ferrari after I bought it. What's the point of that?

It would also require people to actually use some math skills to get the "penniless" trophy.

aaargh I know I'm going to get flamed massively for this comment, but I just cant hold it back any longer.

All you dupers and cheaters ARE ruining my game. Stop saying you aren't!
The UCD and OCD were meant to be random, so that cars had a rarity, than when you saw someone online using it or your friend had one that you didnt, the trading/gifting come into play.
PD sought to enrich the community in this game by creating the ability for a marketplace to exist, and what the dupers have done is destroy the VALUE of EVERY car on the market with an endless supply of whatever anyone wanted.

So now when that 'rare' car pops up in my UCD I can no longer trade up with someone looking for that particular car.
I was really excited about the prospect of rare cars and the marketplace until the duping started, now I dont trade whatsoever. YES YOU RUINED MY GAME.

There I said it. Flame suit on.:nervous:

Some people just ask for us to violate the AUP. Sad part is,this one's not even worth it.👎

I think GT6 would've come out before I saved up 20 mill multiple times in this game. I did it once, that was enough for me.

Ruining the game? I'd say that this part of the game has been ruined already.

There's still something special when you see one of these cars on track and wonder what they look like inside, how they drive etc. But yeah, that feeling is diminished.

The only one I'm missing is the Ford Mark IV and coincidentally met somebody who had it last night. He told me it's a nice drive and that it has an awesome sounding engine. He let me borrow it and it was true. As soon as I hit 20mil, I'm going for it.

Just like real life... try buying any of these cars and tell me how much it costs...

It will he hilarious if there are only 2 XJ13 in the entire GT5 universe and once it is bought no one can get it.

no point comparing the ingame system with real life, who in real life can collect 1000+ cars within a few month anyway. The car purchase is a part of the game design, it's not a matter of hardwork or laziness, just that if there's no point in restricting user access to the cars and the route the game provides for us to get to them is so limited, why restrict at the first place.

The Ferrari P4 steering wheel in cockpit view isn't worth the 20,000,000 credits.
Still, great car.

Why the 20 million dollar limit is so good.

I've just kind of realised this, but if you don't duplicate, then the 20 million cars really are the "special" cars of the game.

They all look amazing and when you buy them, you really have to choose carefully, you can't just buy buy buy, you have to wait, save up, and buying one of those really means something in the game.

I think that's why it's important to have the 20 million credit limit.

Your logic is broken. 20 million is still 20 million, and saving up for 20 million is still saving up for 20 million whether there's a 20 million limit or not. Buying a 20-mil car and then buying a second one is still saving up for 20-mil twice, even if you can actually save up more than 20 million at once.

The only difference is inconvenience and potentially wasted credits. Once I hit 20 million, I had to be careful to make sure I spent money before doing another race or else the credits would just vanish into oblivion. That's not a good thing. Twisting these inconveniences around to look like a good thing is just GTFDL nonsense.

...no point comparing the ingame system with real life, who in real life can collect 1000+ cars within a few month anyway...

There are certainly people who can. Jay Leno has been playing Gran Turismo all his life. :P

well i received the XJ13 by winning indy 500, so be really careful when you buy

If there has to be a limit, it has to be 30 mill, so you can tune the when you buy it, and have soke spares

The current limit is useless. When I want to have a spending spree and buy 6 or 7 LM cars I don't want it to reduce my bank balance to 1 million. Had I have been able to keep all the lost credits over the 20 million mark I'd have been much better off.

Could do with being higher considering the 20 million cars in the game.

Just like real life... try buying any of these cars and tell me how much it costs...

Not like in real life though. Who spends $20 million on a car, leaving themselves penniless in the process? Nobody would do that.

1: I am pretty sure the UCD is not random.

2: Rare is only an issue if you don't want to go into a license test and skip 5 in a row.

3: No one ruined your game, they just ruined an opportunity that you might have had to profit off someone elses impatience due to the nature of a semi chance system.

TL; DR you are complaining becuase you perceive a missed opportunity to profit off someone elses misfortune in finding the car they want in PD's painful UCD.

Why do some guys post dumb ideas on this board? How is a limit on money that you earn a good idea? I swear that I've never heard of such foolishness. The next closest 'dumb idea' is the guy who said that grinding should be limited. What planet do you guys live on? Have you actually played GT5 or any of the preceding games in the series? Do you read any of the topics and posts on this site? I understand that you might think its cool to post on a website and have people from all over the world read what you have to say, but please, at least make your post worth the time people took to read it.

Why exactly would you want more than 20 000 000 credits in the game anyway? To grind to 40 000 000 credits is gonna take as long time as grinding to 20 000 000 credits twice.
