Biased turkey
What I'm afraid is that PD will add new racing series with each iteration of GT. What next: dirt racing ? soapbox racing ?

What about RC racing!!!

J.J.Snake
Because it isnt needed? Does that mean the mini cooper and the alto works and the civic are needed? I doubt it. The GT series is not just a game, its also a documentation and history of cars, one that we just happen to be able to actively participate in, if you see what Im saying. I disagree with you cojmpletely in regards to the whole "its not there because it isn't needed" idea.
Exactly what I was going to say. Why not throw a sentra in if theirs civic, coopers and plenty of lancer. Leave a couple lancers out and give us another underdog.

Also, what's wrong with the addition of a semi-performance sport compact, when in the screenshots there's a Ford Taurus? I mean, there's the SRT-4, the VW Jetta, Civic Type R, Integra Type R, so there's all ready enough sport compacts in the game, why wouldn't there be a Sentra SE-R Spec V when it could beat most of the others in a race?

J.J.Snake
Yes, and it sucks. Proving my point that 1/4 of the cars in the game are literally pointless, but are there for us to use and test and just to enjoy. They arent necessarily gonna win us any major races. :)

Nope. With full turbo and all the other modifications, the cooper has about 160 horsepower and is extremely light. In the hands of a capable driver (which you may not be :)), it is a true giant killer. Besides, you don't need horsepower to have fun!

Personally, I'd rather have the cooper than another Japanese compact.

I would really appreciate the Sentra SE-R Spec V if it was in GT4. I love that car and I seriously think of buying one when I end my studies and start working :) .
Yep I like that car and it can easily outrun many cars in its category (Civics :sly: :dunce: )!

See ya :sly:

by "others" do you mean the "other" cars you mentioned here? Surely you jest.

Ever tuned a mini cooper to the maximum?

Good call 240Z!

if we excluded every un-needed car from GT4 (un-needed meaning not high-performance stock) you'd be left with a car list of maybe 30-40, most of GT4 is the underdogs

BTW, the Mini sucks, and blows, all at the same time

@ J.J.Snake & incubusnb....check this out, give it a go, then tell us the Mini isn't going to win any major races. You need to learn some patience with the little fella and learn to race properly without smoking the competition by laps & laps.

Why I hate AI.... (part 1)

The Italian Job

I know its a little off-topic, but I hate to see anyone bashing the Mini that hasn't given it a fair chance!

no, its not the performance that makes the mini suck, its the fact thats its a little goody-goody car designed for self-loving eliteist egotists that somehow think that because they're driving a small car that all of a sudden they aren't trying to prove anything anymore.

thats why the Mini sucks, and blows, all at the same time, i hate the Civic for almost the same reason, the attitudes of the drivers/owners, its the "i'm better than you because i drive this POS" attitude and it stinks

J.J.Snake
I'd like to see a drag race between a sentra se-r spec-v and a civic si.. No doubt the sentra would win, but it would be fun to see. ;)

CAR..............................0-60mph............1/4 ET / SPEED.............. SOURCE
older civic SI coupe.........7.1 sec..............15.7 / 88 mph.............Car&Driver
New civic SI hatch...........7.7 sec..............15.7 / 89 mph............Motortrend
Sentra Spec V................7.5 sec..............15.7 / 90 mph............Car&Driver

no doubt eh? looks like a driver's race to me :)

Who are you to say I havent give it a fair chance? In fact, I have given it many a chance, and it just doesnt meet my standards of fun racing. On tracks that are as long as they are in GT3, who wants to race an underpowered mini cooper? Not I.

Those links you sent me to.... wow, it just proves GT3 has awful AI. Im sure those people who raced with the mini's are good drivers too, but cmon. Is it so wrong for me to say that the mini sucks? Hardly, its just personal preference.

Either that, or they like good gas mileage. :)

(sorry for the double post)

I think you are trying to make some kind of anti-environmentalist statement here, but we are in a forum based on a racing game. We are judging the Mini (not the MINI, and yes, there is a difference) on it's racing merits. Take it to the opinion forum.

whatever, nothing you say or show me will change my opinion of the Mini, i already stated its not the performance that makes me hate it, its the driver's attitudes towards other drivers on the road

downloading a video of the Mini isn't worth my bandwidth (but i don't care if its GT4 or not, just don't expect me to drive it)

Ok, fine. You can hate Minis for their driver's attitude, I can hate lifted trucks for the same reson :).

I know what you mean, damn rednecks with their big wheels... :)

Edit: That is a great video... what an amazing track. Doesnt make me like the mini anymore though. ;) What was with those slow porsches that he passed??? :boggled:

Step 1 grab your knickers from your crack.
Step 2 untwist them!!!!

Actually the Mini is just one of a number of great cars in the GT games, and it was actually designed as a practical method of transporting 4 adults in relative comfort in a very small wheelbase. It had one of the first transversally mounted engines enabling it to be shorter. All in all a very practical design....It also has a fabulous racing pedigree, go research the Monte Carlo Rally. So it won't keep up with a 787B, who cares? its not as spacious as an S-Class Merc, so what?, love it for what it is. ;)

As for self-loving elitist egotists, don't they all drive Hummers or Porsche Cayennes? The number of people on the road nowadays who have the attitude that "I should drive something big & heavy so that when I get in a wreck I'll be OK, and sod whoever I run into" is just downright annoying. What happened to the attitude when everyone drove with the right amount of attention to avoid being in a wreck in the first place? Seeing the Mini p!ss on a BMW is just funny!

Ok, I'm done posting here.....back to the Sentras....wouldn't mind giving one a go, its a bit boxy looking for a performance sedan though.

I don't think the newer models are very boxy, but the older style SE-R's were kind of a box. I like the style of the semi-new 2004 SE-R Spec V. Pretty sweet lookin. Plus the NISMO edition is a performer.

i dunno, maybe i am wrong, but my old boss's dream car was a Mini, he taljked about it endlessly like it was gods gift to mankind, and he was so full of himself you'd just want to beat him into the primordial ooze he evolved from.

so i guess i just started to hate the car as much as i hated him

incubusnb: Well, your boss sounds irritating, but just because some people are biased towards a certain car unfairly, does not make the car bad. A lot of people my age think the Skyline is the greatest car ever made, and it can beat anything. Now, this is obviously irritating, but that does not prevent me from liking the Skyline. It is no where near the supercar they make it out to be, but it is still a formidable car. [/rambling]

Biased Turkey: There is already a "Team Mini" thread in the teams section of the OLR forum. There is even an entire "Team Mini" forum, that you can access through the link in my signature!

i guess i could give the Mini a go here and there, who knows, i may even enjoy it :P

oh, and its my beleif that under the right conditions and right driver, a Skyline can beat pretty much anything not suicidally fast... as in, not the top fuel dragsters, jet cars, Formula 1s etc.
i'd like to see an ALMS team use an R34, i think it would do quite well actually, though i don't know if it would qualfy, i don't know much about the ALMS rules

The Skyline was banned for the Australian V8's because it dominated the series too much.

Well, with modifications, yeah, but I'm talking about people saying: "d00d my 2000 hp r34sKylIneGTr can beet ur McLaren f1 in a drift midnight street race, y0!!!!11!11!!!one!!1"
