Why would it take so long for PD to release GT4 in the US if japans release in dec 28??

Because PD hates America.

Well, a variety of reasons...
1. Japan is PD's home country, and the country the game is being developed and manufactured in. It is cheaper to immediately produce and ship it there first.
2. There is no localization for a Japanese game in Japan.
3. The shipping process can be long and involved, and I'd say it would take around at least a week to get everything secured for release overseas.
4. Polyphony Digital wants the game released in Japan first. To ensure this, they're going to release it in Japan BEFORE even shipping it to the states, so that no stores here in the US can stock it early.

Just my thoughts.

The fact is, there isn't even any proof that there IS a "long" delay for the U.S.. For all we know, it could be out the first week of January, the same 2 weeks after Japan it was originally.

Two words. Atomic bomb

PD hates us. Or maybe its because they don't know much on American cars. Look at the N.A. site.

1963 Corvette Z06?

I agree with everyone!
It can be true that the game would be released 2 week after the Japanese. Or he wants us to get more angry and hungry for the game. WHo knows, and it all comes down to buisness & $$$$

Is there more official clubs like Gtplanet. I have seen GB, and German sites. is there more around the world? And if are the only ones who actually care about GT we should have more access to game info. Yes, i know that my Q is off the topic and i got pissed off a little bit.

Clearly no one here has a clue what they're talking about, pretty much everyone is missing the point.

You've got to, for one, translate the damned game. Then there's the conversion from NTSC/J to NTSC/US, then the packaging process (unless you want your instruction manual in Japanese, but it's not like anyone reads these), and the whole part about making sure the thing is actually working correctly and compatibly before they sell it to you.

Look back at how much time it took for GT3 to come out here after it was released in Japan (they even had time to remove a car and add another one), it's just normal. Every game out there has these delays, it's just that some companies are better at hiding them from the public.

I agree with you, PD is a big company and they should have different teams working on :translations, conversions, and testing. This is a very popular game who has many fans.
I also might be wrong about their development program org.

I'm no expert, but I'd say the official site having a release date of 3/2005 is basically a confirmation of the month of march, all that's left is to confirm a day (that's how it looks to me). punks.

PunkRock already summed it up bloody well but Polyphony Digital is the developer, not the distributor, it's the distributors responsibility to translate it and that would be Sony Computer Entertainment [Insert Region Here]. The distributor is the one that promotes, markets, sells & whatever else PD doesn't do.

Well since PunkRock pretty much got it, maybe a closure is in order?

Ask and you shall receive.
