I hear the CEO of Automobili Pininfarina just got promoted to CEO of Pininfarina overall! He seemed to appreciate my congrats, too.

Chinese EVs are coming to Canada. I have no interest in buying one but I'm very interested to see how this plays out. I think they'll be great for all the cities in southern Ontario since their winters are relatively warm and short. I'm not sure how they'll handle it up north though. Not only are the winters longer, colder with much more snow, but the road salt they use is absolutely brutal on vehicles and it's constantly getting put down too.

Canadian canola meal, lobsters, crabs and peas will no longer be subject to Chinese "anti-discrimination" tariffs from March to at least the end of the year. There was no mention of canola oil.

In return, Canada, which imposed 100 per cent tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles in 2024, will allow up to 49,000 Chinese EVs into the Canadian market each year, at a 6.1 per cent tariff.

I think we're getting a bit off topic here, this thread is about wider industry news, as in, news that affects the whole industry.

That's probably on me, though. I don't think I clarified that when creating the topic.

Here's an example of an article that I think fits:
