The Japanese get theirs pretty soon, we in America have to wait until next summer to get ours. Still, its probably got the best-looking interior in any "new" Honda right now...

Ahahahahahha... ha...ha................ ha. yeah, I got it.

Where's that Catfish pic when I need it?

Front looks ugly, back looks cheap and the interior looks very cheap. True, it is simple, but it might be too simple. And the way that the nav system is over on the passengers side makes it look poorly planned.

While I do like the photos, I'm betting it looks really good in real life....... maybe only to hatchback lovers. Rear is tricky, and I love that. M-Coupe, Focus hatches, last-gen Civic Si, I love them all.

Color is all wrong to me in the interior. And while it looks above average, I do prefer the look of the current one. I don't know about cheap though, as the new one I sat in also looked pretty cheap to me, but it was not "cheap" at all for the MSRP of the car.

I take it back. Proportion similar to that of Prius will bother some people(not me!).

Hmmmmm. I like.

i dont understadn how the Fit looks ugly now..

I think the front looks more welcoming now, ther's no sharp point, the rear is kicked up a bit higher i think? the interior is "clean", simplistic and not overwhelming. MAybe that was the purpose to draw less attention to the car and more on the road. I like the steering wheel, i dont know about you guys, maybe it's becuase I never seen better.

Lately, I've noticed that Honda and Toyota are improving on their design while Subaru and Mitsubishi aren't. US cars, they are getting better, the solstice, Sky, hell even the cobalt is pretty nice.

The shots provided by a6m5 really helped the car's cause for me. And looking at the steering wheel and instruments brings the interior up a little. I guess it just isn't very fancy. It just doesn't seem very styled like everything else these days.

Looks suspiciously like an EP Honda Civic.

My thoughts exactly. To me it looks too much like an egg and I think the small size of the wheels isn't helping that any. I like the overall redesign of the front but those rear lights look awful.

My thoughts are mainly that compared to the competition (ie Nissan Versa/Tiida, Toyota Yaris, Kia Rio5, etc) its still a good-looking car... Possibly one of the better looking cars in Honda's lineup, S2000 of course still looking the best. Personally, I like how it isn't outrageous like the new Civics, but not quite as conservative as the new Accords. Its a good balance for an already good car.

...I just hope they don't ruin the driving dynamics...

Wii? The Wii guys drive a Smart. Anyway, entry-level cars now coming with nav screens = win.

I notice that it also has steering wheel controls for something. I'm pleasantly surprised at how quickly some of these technologies have filtered down to even the lowest entry-level compacts.

I love the Fit's new appearance. 👍
Can't wait to drive this new model. 👍

Also, I'm not in the same boat as philly cheese... I don't like steering wheel controls and I'd like to see more cars without buttons on the wheel.

To each his own!

Why do the Wii joke?

I thought it was funny. You know, the whole Wii Fit thing...

Yep, black doesn't seem to really work that well. The lights are also partly black and blend in with the body, which makes it look pretty awkward.

-> What!? Ugly? I think that statement only applies to non-wagon/hatchback fans here in the US. :indiff:

-> I absolutely love it! And being a Fit/Jazz fan and all, I can't wait for the RS with that sky roof to be available here in the US. Who needs that Scion xD? I think that Fit is a worthy replacement for my wagon. :D

:indiff:-> But I doubt those idiot people at American Honda will bring us a retardred version, just like the ones we have. :dunce:

:)

Does your Corolla have them? My Altima has the stereo, cruise control and trip computer controls on the wheel, and I don't think I can ever go back! They are so handy.

^ My Subie doesn't have them either! Those buttons are so handy especially when your cruisin' on the highway while driving the current-gen Fit. :D

Kent-> If you don't like buttons on the wheel, well theres Momo and Nardi to suit your needs. :)

^ Say what!? Cobalt...nice? I don't think so, the old US Focus (especially the SVT) looks miles better than that Cobalt. :yuck:

👍-> Hey, I like those seats:

^ It looks far more sportier and confortable than the one I have with my wagon. :indiff:

I kind of like it. I don't however like the Civic steering wheel. Everything else looks pretty damn good to me.

I have the controls for the center display and the stereo in my car. I also have a few other buttons but we don't have those options on the car. It certainly gives you something to do at stoplights and it's a nice trick to impress people.

And not to mention that it looks like the VW-style barber chair levers are catching on. Those are really cool.

It was fun messing with my friend, when he kept on trying to change the volume on my stereo. It took him a couple of times, before he realized what was going on.

P.S. I'm really digging the seats, also.

I do that all the time. It really is funny to watch them go back to the volume knob when they have no idea what is going on.

I think this car is definitely slowly building my confidence. Right now my only complaints are the rear styling and the center console styling. Only positive for the rest:tup:. Hopefully the car really is as good as it looks.

Who needs that Scion xD?

Fat Americans who think they're being "different" by buying a totally "unique" car, despite the fact that everyone and their grandma buy them for the same reasons. Oh, and they aren't much fun to drive, and the odd Dihatsu looks are still hard to get around...

...and another growth spurt. So in 20 years time, we'll be mourning the loss of the full-size Accord and the Civic will have V6 power. It looks absolutely huge on such tiny wheels. Gotta hand it to the manufacturers with this clever "sub-compact" push in North America; the next generation will be entirely too big to use that classification. Maybe I'm wrong and it's just poor proportions, but it looks a good chunk larger than the current model, which isn't exactly "tiny".

Yet, for all my bickering, I can't hate it. Not bad Honda, but I really can't see a sporty version of this, even with Spoon's help. It just looks anti-sport.
