it works fine on my American-spec PS2 modded with a Messiah 2 chip... when I bought my chip, the DMS3's were the top of the line. I couldn't get one because I would have had to wait about 2 weeks for it (and I'm impatient), so I went with the Messiah 2..

If it works on my messiah, I would be absolutely shocked if it doesn't work on your DMS..

The DMS3 is top of the line and plays DVD9's. It will play your GT4. although i answered your question, search next time ! there is a whole thread dedicated to swap disks and mod chip campatibility with GT4 a few pages back ! later-

I have a sniper chip its 2 years old. I can play all kind of games PAL and NTSC (DVD and CD) can I play the original version of GT4 too ??? I have ordered it from play-asia.com thats why im asking.
Thx for help

not the DMS series :D. i would go for a chip with the lowest wire count. I installed my own. It is a DUO2SE. do a google search for it, you will find it. only 17 wires :) and it plays DVD9, imports, and backups. very nice really ! realy any low wire count makes it simpler to install, but not much easier. the surface mount soldering is still a task in itself. i wouldn't recommend installing a chip youself unless you have had a good amount of surface mount soldering skills and have a very steady hand. i have seen too many PS2's destroyed from people who just weren't quite ready to install a chip on their own. later-
