Just a general query really - I've just moved from Ireland to New Zealand and was wondering will the PS2 games I buy here work on my PS2? Is NZ PAL or what's the deal? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks. :)

P.S. When is the official GT4 release date for this corner of the planet, same as OZ (Feb '05)?
 
PS2's here are PAL. Yep. If Ireland is PAL, then yes you're fine. I get games from England, sent over here and they work.

What part of Auckland are you in? I live about 1 and a half hours drive from you.

Yes New Zealand is PAL, and unfortunately we now have the Feb release date...

But you can travel around abit in the next few months and enjoy our scenery and cheap alcohol... that should take your mind off GT4, until you sleep!!!

Besides One Tree Hill...well I go to school extremely close to there. Very small world.
 
i cant wait till gt4 comes to nz feb 05 fek should be here now i dont want to wait. least nz has the best vacation spots eg twizel and queenstown. i live in bulls (near palmy) ps forza is stupid its like the unrealsitic rip off of gt if u like forza and nfs then u arnt a motorsport fan
 
You live in Bulls??? Cripes you poor sod!!! I was there in the early 80s. At least its only about 30mins to Manfield... Pity they no longer have the Ohakea race meeting, that's where I saw a Porsche Turbo for the first time. In the race some cars got a two lap head start and the likes of Jaguar E-Types got a lap head start... forget how many laps but the Porsche won.

Least you can claim to be able to get milk from Bulls... lol
 
On this subject, although not related to NZ. I`m in the UK and obviously have a PAL PS2 (Unchipped). If I get the English/Chinese import, will that not work at all on my PS2? I did get an early "version" of Grand Theft Auto** recently which was a US version which worked fine. All this PAL / NTSC stuff is confusing.

Am I right in assuming the PS2 are not divided into regions like DVD`s? or are they?

I just want GT4 when everyone elses gets it, I`m not waiting until next year :crazy:

Hope someone has some answers! ( I think this is my first post, so please dont shout at me for anything I might have done wrong in the posting of this :dunce: )

** Using a boot-disc combo I might add.

You have power down there in the South Island??? J/k I'm headed down to the Garden city in a few weeks. I'll be there over Christmas.
