Will my race be affected?

'Sup GTP :D

I'm in the middle of the 24 Hours of Nurburgring in B-Spec right now, and I just logged onto GTP and remembered that update 2.08 is coming out tomorrow. Will it affect my race? I've been running it as long as I can but I've had to suspend it multiple times (because my parents won't let me leave the PS3 on all night, and because my little brother wants to play LBP). I'm over half-way through the race and it would really suck if the update messed it up.
 
Honestly I have no idea. But what you can do is to make a backup of your savegame on USB after suspending it.

If the update kills your suspended endurance, then de-install the update and restore your savegame. Disconnect your PS3 from the internet and try to finish it 👍

You can keep on going, but because there's a tyre wear update, you'll have to adapt to that.

I was in a similar place with the first tyre wear change update in the Suzuka 1000km. Needless to say, it really did shake things up and I won...barely.

Since I'm using the X1 (Hey, it's Bob, he needs all the help he can get :rolleyes: ) and they didn't change the rate of tire wear for Formula cars, it shouldn't make much of a difference.

Thanks for replying guys. A 24 hours enduro, even one in GT5, is serious business.
 
If you want to keep on going with the same tire wear and not risk anything - you don't need to connect to PSN as it's an offline race. That way you will not be asked to update GT5.
 
Do NOT attempt to update. You will lose your race. Trust me, there have been tears in the past. If you are prompted for the update click cancel.

Totally correct. Update didn't kill the race, but my car was stuck in the pits. Uninstalling the update put things right. PS3 is offline until the race is over. And I don't care if I lose my 200% log-in bonus either.
