I see alot of guys making NASCAR rooms in GT5 and I'm figuring they'll all switch over to NTG2011. I for one will be (for NASCAR racing). I figure there could be a big upside for GT5, does less traffiic mean faster loads and less lagging. Just a guess I'm no expert.

No big deal, more big releases may mean less people that aren't so bothered about proper racing may leave.

Your connection may still be laggy and choppy despite having less players now compared to before.

GT5 NASCAR and EA Sports / Activision-Eutechnyx NASCAR (the licensed versions) are going to be two different things altogether. Whereas GT5 focuses more on the racing aspect, the licensed versions focus on the NASCAR experience as a whole, from racing to "Rick Hendrick - the Experience." The physics for the games have always been a little suspect when compared to GT5 as well. You're going to see people fitting into two different categories:

The people in it for the racing and competition - they'll probably stay here.
The people in it for the NASCAR experience - they'll probably flee to the licensed version first chance they get.

The licensed version brings with it all the little technicalities that GT5 wouldn't be implementing anytime soon, such as cautions, terminal car damage, and the championship format, not to mention the NASCAR tracks that GT5 hasn't/won't implement as well. So yeah, there'll probably be a significant dip in NASCAR rooms when the game first comes out, but it should level back off shortly afterwards as people begin to decide which game they like better.

Having purchased the NASCAR game today, there are a lot of bugs with online. Check out their official forums. You might think people around here complain about a "half finished" GT5, trust me, you'll feel better about GT5 after playing the new NASCAR. It's heinous. The developers DO seem to care about fixing it though, so at least they aren't going to pull an "EA Sports" and just take the money and run.

I picked up my copy of NTG2011 today, and haven't played online yet, but I will say this, everyone thought the threads on here complaining about GT5, the complaining on the NTG broads are worse then on here

Personally, all Nascar games from EA felt too arcade-like, destroying the Nascar feel. If anyone else feels the same way, I figure people with stay with GT5.

On a side note, if anyone is interested in playing a Nascar licensed game, "Dirt to Daytona: by Infogrames seriously has the be the best Nascar based game, period. Physics-wise, the best.
