But they're not going to add anything. Most of the information we have points to a problem in production and/or manufacturing. There is NO INDICATION WHATSOEVER that the game has gone back to Polyphony Digital.

All you're doing is setting yourself up for disappointment when the game comes out three weeks later than it was going to, and *gasp* it won't have online, and it won't have any new frikkin' cars or tracks. Quit your wishing and wait like the rest of us, you're only making it worse on yourself.

Reason of delaying
"Natural challenges with finalizing all the key features and
localization issues across worldwide territories "

in other words, the latest release candidate (RC) did not pass the quality assurance (QA) process over at Sony. devs do not add or remove stuff from RC's they just fix the bugs and deliever another RC to QA for more testing. when an RC has passed QA, the gold master is created and the game has officially "gone gold". only the gold master is shipped off for duplication.

My mind has now been numbed to false release dates, hopes, expectations....

Well, the December 14th release date was perfectly valid, but as others have said, Sony made a small mistake that pushed the game's release back. It's not Polyphony's fault, and it's not like the game will be any less awesome.

hmm ... on second thought, if GT4 is released toward the end of Q1 2005, maybe Polyphony Digital will (re)insert the online component but i have my doubts.
