Sir Frank Williams believes that a peaceful conclusion to the bitter dispute between the manufacturers and Formula 1's decision makers that has threatened to split Formula 1 apart will come "soon".
Williams, who signed up to a new Concorde Agreement committing his team to F1 until 2012 along with Ferrari, Midland and Red Bull, claims the political climate within F1 is ripe for an agreement.
"I think it is quite quiet now isn't it," Williams said at the launch of his team's new FW28.
When asked whether he thought the manufacturers would eventually sign up to Bernie Ecclestone's new Concorde Agreement he said: "My opinion is I would think so.
"There is less noise and chatter and I don't mean that unkindly, but I am aware of less chatter than three months ago or six months.
"There is a little beligerance from one or two of the usual quarters but I think they will get together soon and sign up.
"I could be wrong but that is my opinion and that is what I have given you."
Williams' decision to sign up to Formula 1's future last year was born out of a desire to do what's best for the sport.
He added that it would be better for F1 for teams now to put differences aside and concentrate on the future.
"We need one championship only and we need all the best names in the world in that championship and some of those names are manufacturer teams," he said.
