Will we ever run out of creativity?

There can't be an infinite number of dance moves, movie titles, or styles of music out there to create, can there? I think we'll all eventually kill ourselves as a race before we can run out of stand up one-liners anyway.

I'm sure that's what they thought in the 17th and 18th century, when neoclacissists were recycling old Renaissance themes in painting. Then along comes Impressionism and people are painting how scenes make them feel. The art elite and Academy were up in arms, but now Monet paintings are selling for millions. Would anyone would have expected that the way you paint how you feel to be a legitimate artform before these history-changing artists? Nope.

Creativity is not measurable. There is no end to it.

Creativity will only die when freedom is destroyed.

I see what you're saying. To take it a bit further, is there really an original thought or is every creative effort drawn from prior experience?

I personally don't think so. Given our different thinking patterns as a species, someone's bound to come up with a truly original plan or idea, even if today it is hard to find. However, practicality kills off a good deal in inventions, so it surrounds us, but in another form: eccentricity.

As our planet changes, so do our race and the way we perceive, conceive, and perhaps deceive, so there is no clear answer as of now, but the current outlook says no.

We will never run out of creativity. Because people are becoming less creative these days. Rappers are starting to steal beats and lyrics from rock artist.*no examples*

Have you been to the movies lately?

Or watched TV recently?

I would like to agree with you, because its sort of true, and funny. But really, there are new things out there all the time as far as TV, I mean look at Reality TV, it's stupid but it was very creative at one point, now it's all shock tv in my opinion.

I think creativity on today's TV shows has to do with what kind of setting the show is set in, and how the actors portray their characters. The stuff they say and the situations are all -not- origional.

However, they are creative in how they use it.

So, we may never see anything truly original (except for you Popular Science readers) in a long time, but we can count on such things being even remotely creative.
