Your letting less than 5 bucks a month stop you from playing GT6. That is really petty, its 5 bucks a month that is nothing.

No, it's about priorities. My extra $$$, all of it, is going towards a FR-S. I'd much rather have the real car. And if the PS3 is unaffected, then I'll stop after GT6 and won't get 7.

When you pay for online play, you're telling the companies that it's okay to keep milking you. It's not okay with me.

Yep it appears the PS3 will remain free to play online games. The PS4 will require a subscription which I have no problem with at all. I've been paying for Live for a few years already. I'll just drop that and subscribe to PSN+ which seems to be a much better value anyway.

I won't pay online...for now. I am being patient and waiting to see what happens post-launch PS4 and see if there is going to be anything that sparks my interest.

I agree about the priorities. Right now there are other things I need to be concerned about. PS+ is a nice service. I have heard nothing but great reviews from my friends. But, I am not ready to make that financial commitment, especially when I have GT6 coming out. Even if GT6 was to be released simultaneously on the PS4, I would not be ready.

I am planning to get a PS4, but if I do I will not pay for online play.

I already pay for my internet once.

Besides, online communities for games are getting worse and worse by the year. It's honestly probably healthier not to play games online.

I have no problem paying for online play as i've been with Xbox live for many years. When you consider the cost and the value you get from it, compared to say going out for a meal or to the cinema, then its very good value for money. Here in the UK the cost of ordering a large Dominos pizza works out to be the same as a 3 month Xbox live subscription!

YES
I loved to play online among friends. Unfortunately we had several connection problems and limitations (e.g. driver a could not see driver c or listen to another...)
If I am not wrong XBox users pay for online and they have not so many troubles...
If I have to pay (e.g 5/10 € per month) for a stable system (= fun) then I'll pay.

Generally we never have any problems on Xbox live. you get the odd moment when the servers go down but thats rare. What I like the most though is the way you can have party chat with 8 people and you don't even have to be playing the same game. Also when I play Forza I just simply click on a friends name and join session in progress and im instantly in that persons room.

PSN is not stable, it throws quite a few bugs up, and ive heard many people say the Xbox live service is a lot better, i would happily pay for a premium service if it would improve the PSN problems.

But to people who are moaning about this, as always its your wallets that count. So many times people say DLC is rip off etc etc then go buy it. PD/Sony only care about $$$. The only real vote is if you actually buy it or not.

Yes. A lot of my friends have been using ps plus since it's introduction and have access to a fairly large library of titles as a result. I would have subscribed by now if my hdd hadn't been full.

I probably wouldn't pay for online on it's own but ps plus alone is worth the cost.

I probably won't do much online racing but I will continue to pay for Plus. It has been worth it even without the multiplayer thing so I want to keep my subscription anyway. I like the fact that I already have a nice selection of Vita games, despite not actually owning one. It'll be handy in case I do decide to get one though.

Very true. Xboxlive is a LOT more stable than PSN by a longshot. I started online gaming with the PS2 back when Socom 2 and Underground 1 were out. Been playing MANY online games including PS2, PS3, PC, xbox, and 360. The PSN is by far the most unstable online experience. I don't mind paying for live because its well worth it especially for around $34.00 if you watch for sales. PSN is not worth paying for IMO at all. Plus after the PS3 got hacked for what 2 months or more, I just don't feel comfortable paying for PSN. Sonys selling point has always been "free online". Answer is no to paying for PSN. Live dominates the online experience imo. Since I am gaming online 99.9% of the time, live is the best option for me.

I wouldn't say it's a lot more stable by a longshot. But maybe I'm lucky, I've heard people get disconnected all the time. Hopefully PSN will be improved and PS+ isn't only paying to play online, there's loads of content that comes with PS+.

Maybe if you think that you are paying to get connected with your community would sound more valuable. Anyway, the fee is not that high and it gives you much more than you can think of.

Also wont have to worry about an update like the 4.45 PSN update bricking my console. Playstation is known for very unstable updates.

I'm undecided about paying to play online as I don't know if PS+ is actually worth it. It might be the way things are going but paying to play online will be a massive kicker for some PS3 owners (myself included) looking to transfer to PS4.

You seem to be physic again. XBL could be hacked and XB could get a bad update. You talk like things that have happened to PSN could never happen to XBL and you don't need to worry about them.
