We are presented with the opportunity to pay for a new console, purchase an unfinished game (in which we are expected to endure endless updates that fix 1/2 and brake 1/2),
It's true some, I repeat
some updates create more bugs than they fix, but don't pretend like it happens every time.
expected to buy dlc(to complete the game we already paid for),
DLC is entirely optional, no one is forcing you to buy it nor is anyone expecting you to, it's simply there for those who are willing to pay to get more enjoyment out of that particular game. DLC is normally side missions, stuff that makes it
easier to complete the game, side plots and so on.
I've never experienced a game where you have to buy DLC to complete it. Are there games on the PS3 that require this? Or has it been confirmed for the PS4?
That's actually a genuine question, I'm quite curious.
and the icing on the cake is to pay for a weak server system that is prone to down time(with little to no compensation), hacks(real or imagined), the list goes on and on.
Sure, I'd like to pay for that
It's amazing how hung up some people get on the one time PSN got hacked, yet they conveniently forget the same happened to Xbox Live twice.
Also I can't remember the last time I went to sign in to PSN to find out it was down for maintenance, in the past few years PSN has been dependable and I can sign in almost every time (when my Ethernet cable isn't playing up).
Add on the compulsory PS+ membership and this will only get better.
I will never buy dlc or pay to play a video game 👍
You've bought a video game before right? Therefore you've payed to play a video game. Every single game you buy from now onwards you pay to play the video game. It's kind of how it works, sorry to break it to you.
Another genuine question here, how many hours of gameplay did you spend online on your PS3? (If you had/have one)
If you don't want to buy the console, don't buy it. What's the point clutching at straws trying to find limp wristed reasons to justify not buying it? It doesn't make sense to me.
