What the title says. ;)

Will you tell your grandchildren about what hopes and dreams you had for Gran Turismo 5 after playing Prologue, and then show them the game? Will you tell them about how you lived in a blissful ignorance, believing that every car would have the same high standards in the full game? Will you tell them how you managed to eke out for years playing the same six tracks all over again while you were desperately waiting for any news? Will you tell them how you got constantly punted by idiots while playing online?

Or will you just get rid of this game, forget about it and tell them nothing? :(

I figure I may as well keep Prologue around after GT5 comes out. It's not like it's going to have any value (so selling it to a used game store wouldn't be worth it), and it would only take up a very small amount of space anyways.

Plus, it would be neat to open up after about a month into GT5 just to find the differences in physics, etc.

Given that I have the lot still (GT, GT2, GT3, GT:C, GT4P, GTHD, GT5P & GTPSP) I guess its a bit of a no brainer for me (started GT4 again earlier this week as well and just put down GT:PSP to post this).

Keep it is

Posterity can get his own copy. I'm keeping mine.

I'll be keeping it. Not for posterity, since i only played it on and off for a couple of months, but because i tend not to throw things out. Much to the annoyance of MrsCracker.

I'll definitely be keeping it. When everyone else is on GT5 I can finally be the fastest on Prologue :P

Seriously though, Prologue has had more love and time from me than any other game I've ever owned, I'll always keep it.

All the best
Maz

Of course, why not?? I think that any game that you really enjoy should not be gotten rid of. I bought back GT, GT2,and GT3 because collectively they are unique and it is the only Race sim on any console to show how it has improved every time with a new release.
I maybe wrong with that statement but that is how I see it. How much money will they all be worth in say the next 25-30 years?

I have a lot better stories to tell my grandchildren than how long I waited to play a video game, but I will keep it.

I'll keep it simply because trade value for it is going to suck when GT5 comes out. I'll keep my disc, and the store can keep their $2.

I still have every other GT disc that I've bought over the years GT1 - GT5P and I'll always keep them around. Plus, its nice to see the progression from past to present.

I'll keep it ( as I've kept most games, the only ones I traded in were the ones I knew were pisspoor from the first minutes of playing them ) although I doubt I'll be playing it again once GT5 arrives, heck I doubt I'll be playing any other game for a long time once I put that disc into my PS3.

But this isn't the reason you started this thread now was it?
Regardless of whether GT5 disappoints or not, at least it will offer more content than Prologue ( at least 200 cars with interior as opposed to 70 or so ).
To be honest, if I am initially disappointed by GT5 ( which will be the case if 800 cars won't have interiors regardless of the reasons why ) I'll try to adapt to it reluctantly and I will try to forget my expectations ASAP.
Not because they weren't justified or realistic but because of my own mood which could change dramatically by being reminded of the anticipation I had playing Prologue.:)

I will not save anything for posterity...

I will still play GT5-P from time to time.... but i will not explain anything to future generations...

They would be: "Leave us alone, and please no more history... all we want to do is play GT6 3-D with 500 cars in Premium and 1200 cars in Standard! ;) "

But the trees are 3-D finally!

Skidmarks will just be old legend/myth that women would tell themselves.

You'll have to forgive my sentimentality! :O At least for me, it'll be interesting to look back and reminiscence about all the wishes and expectations I had for this game. And I don't mean that in a negative sense, because I'm really looking forward to finally playing the damn game after all these years!

Oh, and that bit about posterity was meant as a joke. ;)

I agree and have much the same sentamentality as you antti-san.;) Prologue has made the wait for GT5 tough, but without it...lets not go there.:scared:
I will be keeping Prologue, it probably won't get played much after GT5 arrives obviously, however it's worth keeping just for the fact that meeting and racing your online friends all started here.:D:tup:
Peace,

I don't want my grandchildren to think I'm a loser. I could barely handle my girlfriend laughing at me for acting like a pansy for days after the STANDARD fiasco started.

It's hard to explain whatever is discussed here to "outsiders", let alone feeling passionate about it and expressing that.
Which ofcourse is only logical and it's better not to even attempt going there.
What happens on GT-Planet stays on GT-Planet.

Don't worry man, I won't tell anyone if you won't! ;)

If you think that's bad you should have been here for the wait between GT3 and GT4.

Japan and the PAL regions got GT4:P and the US got nothing, now that caused far, far more uproar than anything we have right now (including the entire Standard Vs Premium cars debate).

People were not happy at all, mass boycotts of GT4 were discussed and moans about how PD hated America.

Those were fun times (but I had to sympathise after all I got something a lot of people on here didn't).

Ohh and I just remembered the EU got the BMW 1-Series Nurburgring demo prior to GT4 as well.

I'll keep GT5P just like I've kept each previous version. I trade in nearly all other games once I'm bored of them but I keep Grand Turismo games for good. I go back to them and play them again every now and then and enjoy every minute of it, especially GT3 which I've recently got back into and has become my favourite version despite me not being all that impressed with it when it came out.

I think it would sadden me if a computer game that I played for a year or so would even be worth mentioning to my grandkids in about 40 years or so, let alone be one of the highlights. ;)

At least you can tell them that you have no sense of humor! ;)

Will keep it for keeping sake, although Mrs Raybrig dosent understand why i would want to play it again later down the line. Suppose its the same when i bought a PS2 slim to keep playing GT3 and GT4 when my 60 gig died on Christmas nite!
