I searched. Only one other thread that matched my situation came up. I posted in that one too, but I think it's in the wrong Forum. So it will probably just get overlooked.

I tried uploading my CD to WMP9. The problem with that is it's only uploading tiny amounts of every song. I'm trying to burn a CD for a friend. I use Nero Burning Rom. I can't however burn it using that because the CD has all of those extra features (It's LP Meteora). I downloaded WinAmp 5 yesterday so I don't know how to use it. I want to be able to save the songs in my Playlist aswell. First I want to be able to copy the CD though.

If anyone can make anything of this, 'as I myself am confused' That would be very helpful. :)

PLLLLLLLLZZZZZZZ! Help me :(

I Think I Can Make Out What Your Saying....

So You Want To Rip A Cd With Winamp 5?

Then First Off You Need To Set Up Your Ripping Settings, But If You Have Winamp 5 Non-Pro You Only Have AAC Adio Options, And Can Rip At Only 2x Speeds
as seen here, the rest of the options are self explanitory

Next You Goto Your Media Library Select the Cd Drive And Then Press The Rip Button

I Hope This Helps And/Or Is What You Want

Check this thread out. I believe it will be of use since it is relevant. It was posted in the rumble strip and asks the same thing you want.

Personally, I use the software (Creative Lab's Playcenter) that came with my Creative Labs Soundblaster Digital 5.1. It's quick and easy too.

EDIT: Nevermind. I see you've already posted there. :p

Winamp for ripping? Pffft.

I installed my Winamp so it can only play .mp3 & .ogg, only supports Classic skins and the only other extra it has is Direct Sound Output (for crossfading). I use Exact Audio Copy for ripping.

That's the one I'd been in. I think I've figured it out with Nero. I don't know. But it's doing what I want so I'll chance it.

Spock- That helps too thanx

You might want to rip in a little higher bitrate than 112, that's not going to give you the best quality. Rip it at 192, that's cd-standard. Or be adventurous and rip at 320. :D That's some clean stuff there.

He's using the AAC codec which gives better quality at lower bitrates. If you were to rip in ordinary MP3 you'd rip at atleast 192kbps.

I Acttualy(sp?) Use The MP3 224kbps For My Music, I Only Had The AAC Up There Because i Didnt Know If He Had Winamp Pro Or Not.

Now I'm . I think I've sorted it out using Nero. I just had to tick a few boxes here and there.

Thanx for the help though

Actually.

May I ask why you capitalize everything in your posts? It's worse than not using any capitals to say the least.

I think I may have found why it won't work. The Meteora album is supposedly copy protected - making it a ****load of difficulty to copy. It's the same with my A Perfect Circle - Thirteenth Step disc.

Download ClonyXXL and tell us if the Meteroa disc does indeed have copy protection.

Just want to check something.

I use winamp 5. If I insert a CD and play it through winamp can I actually save the data on the cd to the media file with the aim being able to then remove the CD and still play it ????

Im crap with computers so laugh away I dont mind !!!

Yes, it's called "ripping" the data to your harddrive. I don't know if it's any different in 5, because I use 2.8, but you can do it through one of the stock plugins.

I just made a copy of Meteora this morning no prob. I have Easy CD Creator 5 and all I hit was 'copy cd' and it made me a perfect copy. :)
